  1. Initial frequency is as follows. 6 flights a week. I *believe * its 4 to HVN and 2 to MCO but I could be wrong. Weekly: GSP: 6 weekly flights · 2 Thursday · 2 Sunday · 1 Wednesday o Changes to 1 Monday after 06/24 · 1 Saturday o Changes to 1 Friday after 06/24 The airport never stops pushing for more airlines and routes. Nothing else is imminent right now though.
  2. Burbank is Avelo's western hub. They don't fly to LAX.
  3. Don't read too much into the GSP post. Just a stock photo. I can assure you the new airline will not use A1. Also remember GSP Airport uses common use computers at their gates so any airline can use any gate at the airport if the airport wanted them to. If another airline is coming dont read as much into any airline alliances as gate use would depend on who ground handles it. If Unifi gets the contract then if will most likely park with Delta on the B side. If Piedmont got it (which they wont) it'd park probably on A1-3. If UGE got the contract then it would most likely go on A6, A8, or A9. If Trago-Dugan or G2 got the work or someone not already at GSP then it would probably leave out of A5, A7, or A9.
  4. I honestly don’t know when they are going to announce it. I was just trying to take an educated guess. What I do know is service starts June 1st.
  5. With United going mainline on a couple flights in the am as well as some schedule changes by the other airlines, there are expected to be heavy loads of passengers flying out, especially during the 6am-8am time period. Already during those times there have been lines down the escalators and even very long pre-check lines. Those new bag scanners due take a little extra time to clear too which is slowing the process. I would definitely recommend coming extra early these days!
  6. Any schedule changes with mainline has nothing to do with the market and everything to do with the delivery delays on the new United aircraft. Deliveries have become slower than expected, but are supposed to pick up. United will be getting 1 new plane a day by the end of 2023 and 2 new planes a day by 2024. Right now it's where to place those planes. GSP is on United's radar, and they had a plane to send in the short schedule 3 for 2023, but when schedule 4 starts at the end of March a few seasonal services start and leaves GSP back to regional flying. United's schedule is only finalized until the end of May right now so as more mainline fleet hits the company, the chances to expand at GSP become greater. If the mainline flights do well, that will almost guarantee you will continue to see GSP grow. So as of right now, patience is the name of the game!
  7. Keep your eyes and ears out. GSP should be announcing a new carrier soon. Service is going to start in June. Maybe a mid-March announcement?
  8. United's flight schedule is only confirmed until the end of March. That may or may not change before it is finalized.
  9. While a 14 hour layover is too much, the biggest mistake travelers to Europe make is trying to have the shortest layover to their flight and not giving themselves enough time in case something happens. Most everything to Europe leaves around dinner time. A few are later at night, that's it. There are no morning flights unless you are going to LHR, but that gets in so late it wont connect to anything. So if you fly to a hub later in the day (esp to the PHL/NYC area) you risk almost certain ATC delays and late arriving flights. The downside is the next option is 24 hours later. Best piece of advice to Europe is to book the late morning flight to the hub and give yourself plenty of time in case you hit a 1-2 hour delay. People don't and then regret it later, trust me!
  10. You yourself even worked the numbers. The big 3 are adding tons of capacity. While it's nice to have some other leisure destination options from GSP, the fact is these couple times a week discount operators are just a blip on the radar.
  11. The roadway improvement project is gonna be a headache come phase 2. Phase 1 will basically be having the terminal entrance start down where the tower is. Pax won't be affected by this part. Phase 2 is where it gets dicey. They will combine the new road from phase 1 with the existing entrance. During this time the lanes where pax pickup and drop off currently is will all be closed for a couple months. The pax drop off area will be around the area where currently the valet parking is and pax will have a little bit of a walk to get to the ticket counters. Drivers will exit the drop off by hanging a left at parking garage B and then a quick right to the side road that heads towards parking garage A. Pretty sure you will see lots of confused people during this time. Also, as this project gets underway the Airport will also start enforcing the pickup and drop off only rules. No more pulling up and parking and waiting for people to come out when they land. The waiting will need to be done in the cell phone lot. The "move along" you hear from police at other airports will become a familiar voice at GSP as well. All part of getting bigger!
  12. Nope. They are running 7 f lights a day right now and will be running 7 flights a day in March. Not exactly cutting flights.
  13. United posted their mainline schedule today for GSP starting Mar 4th. Twice a day to ORD using A319s, once a day to DEN on an A319, and once a day to IAH on a mix of A319s, A320s, and B737-900s. What a surprise, huh? Good job trying to call me out though!
  14. Still happening. End of March.
  15. The Springhill, Residence Inn, Westin, Hyatt all have shuttles downtown as well as almost every hotel in the Pelham Rd area. That includes the Marriott, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Wyndham Garden, Wingate, Home2Suites.
  16. Also, hotels make a big chunk of change from conferences and catering. GSP would more than love to attract business travelers to fly to the airport, hold conferences and meetings there fully catered, and have them fly out without having to leave the airport at all. Ease and convenience would be a big selling point for that compared to doing it at other local hotels. You won't dominate the market on that, but there is a sector of it that you could pull for that very reason!
  17. Piggy backing on this, when McKibbon put the bid in on it basically GSP Airport came back with a lot of things they required for the hotel to have. McKibbon was then insistent that if GSP wanted these things and dictate the hotel then they should become part of the ownership and funding for it. GSP balked and McKibbon pulled out. A lot of the hotels in downtown Greenville have airport shuttles
  18. Pondering is an understatement lol https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/money/business/2016/04/17/proposed-gsp-pod-car-system-would-first/82949112/
  19. United is looking to grow at GSP. Will soon be announcing mainline service to IAH and ORD starting in March. DEN might be added as well. These will be on either an Airbus 319 or 320. Official announcement on exact start date and frequencies should come soon.
  20. The airport just installed state of the art security scanners at all the TSA lines at the end of August. The problem with the new technology is that the amount of time to scan things has gotten much longer. Not sure if the staff needs to get used to having the new high tech tools or if this is the new norm.
  21. 11? I'm not seeing that. I see 30 scheduled departures tomorrow for AVL. 22. Yep, looks like they have stopped MIA service in OCT. I doubt they have finalized their November schedule yet. Be interesting to see if it stays or they drop it again once they do finalize it.
  23. Thomas Creek is officially back open in Concourse A
  24. The microphones at GSP allow the airlines to choose where people are hearing the announcements. Delta agents either don't know how to change it or prefer everyone hears what they are saying.
  25. My bad I misread the post. AA does do mainline to DFW out of GSP though twice a day.
