  1. Just tried to book a flight on this new service and it is a CRJ from Air Wisconsin leaving GSP at 12pm arriving at LGA at 1:56pm. Return flight leaves at 9:10am and arrives at 11:29am.
  2. Spent a little time using web archive to look at gsp a few years back. Thought it'd be interesting to show what the flight schedule was here 10 years ago. Forgot about that 1 fight a day we had to Asheville. Go back another year and USAirways has the flights to Chicago, not United. Check it out if you're interested: http://web.archive.o...om/schedule.asp
  3. Major Announcement at GSP at 2pm. Could this be what everyone has been waiting for? http://www2.wspa.com...-gsp-ar-157849/
  4. Allegiant announced today that they are moving out of Orlando-Sanford and flying into Orlando International starting Feb 8th. What's funny is they announced a special deal of rates as low as $45 each way to start the service. Right now the rates are $27 each way to Orlando, so obviously this move comes with a price increase. Still not a bad deal though. http://www.wyff4.com/news/21776736/detail.html
  5. That's true, but what they will do is drive down prices of the legacy carriers, which is what GSP needs.
  6. Speaking to the director of sales of 6 major hotels in the area, I can confirm Southwest is not negotiating crew rooms. That is just a rumor unfortunately. And yes, I am someone in the hotel industry.
  7. Saw this article about Pensacola going strong for Southwest. Anyone know what we're offering? http://www.pnj.com/article/20090830/NEWS01...323/1006/NEWS01
  8. If anyone near the airport saw an odd number of takeoffs tonight, you weren't mistaken. With the weather in Atlanta tonight lots of flights were diverted to GSP. Air Tran 872, Continental 1251, Delta flights, 1515, 1705, 5508, 5386, 5087, and 5293 have all just taken off for ATL. Flights 5114 and 4972 are inbound now from ATL.
  9. Could've been a charter flight too. I know we had a group of reserves in town last month on a training exercise and they flew air tran. NC State flew in on a DL 757 last week and I believe that's the same equipment Maryland should be using for a 12pm arrival. I know they're flying DL from BWI. We had a lot of traffic last friday too from diversions from CAE b/c of the plane crash.
  10. At least Allegiant still is an option! http://www.greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbcs....D=2008805300328
  11. Didn't a Piedmont Airlines plane land downtown years back? Maybe late 80's/early 90's? I vaugely remember, but wasn't it something like GSP had the runway lights shut off and they landed there? Was it a 727? I can't really remember the details
  12. Daytona Beach Area is just a 2nd listing for Orlando. Why they do that, I don't know, but if you were to try and reserve a flight with that option, you'll see you'll be flying to Orlando.
  13. Where do you see that? I see 3 flights out of Atlanta at 6am, 7:05am, and 2pm. 2 of them are the MD-88's so at least they're keeping the bigger planes. USAirways flies to all their destinations on Sat and Sun, but they're cut down, esp on Sunday. Not really suprising considering all the business travel is gone on the weekends. Hotels are empty on the weekends compared to during the week so I imagine the about of travel via the airlines is much less as well. I don't see it as a bad sign. We're not a big destination for leisure travel.
