When the addition was being built, someone told me that the original building was either the first or largest example of something to do with concrete in Virginia. I haven't been able to dig anything up, but it is cited as an example in a number of papers on using the Mo-Sai method of architectural pre-cast concrete - https://www.pci.org/PCI_Docs/Publications/PCI Journal/2004/May-June/History of Exposed Aggregate (Mo-Sai) Architectural Precast Concrete.pdf

5 floors sounds like the difference between Tredegar and Byrd Streets. Could it be that the 26 is counting from Tredegar and 21 is counting from Byrd. OR something to do with parking levels? Page 21 has a label "LEVEL 1 / P5" and that could be the difference.

On the dc2rva site, they have detailed maps of the track addition and road relocation plans. https://www.dc2rvarail.com/about/project-maps/ The bridge is in the same location as the existing one. The maps show it as just double tracking the bridge, but that probably required rebuilding it or building a new one in about the same location as the existing bridge goes through openings in the floodwall on both ends.

The next new building on Capital Square looks to be a replacement of the Pocahontas Building at Bank and 10th.

A while back, the Urban Design Committee reviewed the plans, but I can't find them quickly. The bridge is going to go diagonally across the intersection of 11th and Marshall, hug the front of Nelson clinic, then turn and connect to the Gateway building.

The webcam shows the tower crane coming down at the new MCV Adult Outpatient Facility. https://app.oxblue.com/open/vcu/vcuhsadultoutpatientfacility I wish they'd hurry up and finish the cladding. It seems like with all the labor involved, it would have been cheaper to go with glass.
