  1. They are saying 24 mil to raise the street.
  2. So are they taking the existing parking garages and just wrapping apartments around them? Seems either brilliant or crazy, can’t figure out which one.
  3. By zooming in and squinting, I estimate 17 stories of hotel on top of the parking structure.
  4. Thanks. That sounds pretty reasonable to me, but I'm not in the food truck business. Then again, how much does the city charge just to park on the sidewalk?
  5. Yeah, can't believe it took months to put in a parking lot.
  6. You didn't happen to ask whether EnRichmond is still involved? They are standing in the way of food trucks being present there by charging huge fees for them to park there.
  7. You're right. I almost wrote "Millenial Towers" but I knew that wasn't right...
  8. This is exactly what Millennium Tower was going to be until the 2008 crash destroyed those plans.
  9. Yes, it has tracks and a wooden platform to roll around on. I'll post a picture if I see anything looking like a tower crane being assembled. I had assumed those red pieces were going to be for the tower crane since they were a different color from the crane.
  10. I assume that the Bissel plant is an actual factory, no? Wouldn't make sense to just build a standalone distribution facility for vacuum cleaners would it?
  11. Is this the signs of a tower crane going up? Imgur link
  12. They actually mowed the grass there a couple of days ago.
  13. Office workers actually go out there during the day, believe it or not. It would be vibrant if it had food trucks during the day.
  14. It's managed by Enrichmond, believe it or not. What's crazier is that the reason there are no food trucks there is that Enrichmond charges food trucks exorbitant rates to park there, so none of them come so the park doesn't get used for its intended purpose.
  15. There is actually a hot dog stand over there. Bet you feel stupid now!
  16. How about we don't steal content?
  17. That's Northeast. The one I referred to is on I Street NW.
  18. Believe it or not, that Whole Foods does most of its business from the lunchtime business crowd, from people picking up groceries to take home, from poor schmucks who are buying dinner to eat at their desks, and the local GW students who live in the surrounding blocks.
  19. Yeah, I promise you that will be here forever, unless replaced by a parking garage. A grocery store without a parking lot is not a viable enterprise.
  20. Yes, I noticed it last week. I'm very happy it's not facing the street.
  21. That's exactly what it looks like...
  22. They appear to have poured some fairly substantial footers on the street-facing portion of the lot.
  23. It makes me less likely to pay to park rather than take an Uber.
