  1. A parking garage lasts forever in RVA it seems...
  2. I never take 64 to Norfolk from Richmond. I just hop on 460 and gladly drive an extra 30 minutes for the certainty that it won't be a 5 hour drive.
  3. Yes, but that was in 2007. The world is a very different place.
  4. That empty lot was pretty depressing. 8 stories on that high location might even show up in the skyline.
  5. What is it about the design that you like? It seems totally incongruous with just about everything in that part of the city and looks like something that could have been sent via teleporter from Northern Virginia.
  6. So am I the only one who thinks these are hideous? Looks like something you'd see at Tyson's Corner straddling Route 7.
  7. I'm glad Richmond isn't Atlanta. That's why I live in Richmond instead of Atlanta.
  8. Man, we need a direct LAX or SFO flight.
  9. Segways are not a transportation option. Jeez.
  10. I don't think 1,800 call center jobs is anything to be jealous about. The average call center job has about 150% annual turnover and little, if any, upward mobility. I would not want 1,800 call center jobs plopped into the James Center.
  11. How great would it be if the Ukrop's family bought them back for about 50% of what they sold them for?
  12. I'm booked to fly on that RIC-Denver flight next month!
  13. Yikes! Can't believe it's been almost 4 years since that plan came out. We really haven't done very much with it.
  14. I wish they would post the source of their pictures. It's so small that it's not readable.
  15. The airport facility is just to work on RJ-145's, which are is a truly embarrassing aircraft. United is phasing out their 145's and AA should do the same. Heck, two of AA's flights to Phily are still on prop planes.
  16. The James Center needs a lot of mechanical work, to be honest. If they had dealt with the issue head-on, MW would still be there.
  17. The live oak is only 30 years old, there are plenty of places you can buy a similarly sized live oak and have it delivered, jeez. I agree about the Dali statue. How many cities have a Dali-designed statue?
  18. Well, the Richmond MSA had 1.2 million in 2014, so they much be looking at a smaller geographic area than that for that projection.
  19. It would cannibalize another part of the city, but it seems crazy that Ledbury doesn't have it's local retail presence right there on Grace Street.
  20. It would be so easy for Chesterfield to do a dedicated/protected bike lane all the way down Robious Road from Bon Air, which would really inject some life into the neighborhood. Chesterfieldians seem to be anti-anything except a car, though.
  21. It kinda looks like a prison from behind.
  22. Check out the renderings on the web site. The back of it looks pretty horrific.
  23. Isn't the obvious choice to simply knock down the old Colisseum and build there? How many events would that actually disrupt? The proximity to the Convention Center is actually pretty important to some groups, which use both venues simultaneously.
  24. If we're going to close down a street or two to traffic, I vote for the cobbled sections of the Slip.
  25. I think extending the line southbound down 301 and Jeff Davis highway to reach people who actually NEED reliable transportation should be a much higher priority than the airport. Most folks don't arrive in a new city and look to hop on a bus, no matter how nice it is.
