That's another advantage of living in a condo vs apt building such as the Waverly, where the property owners actually cares and have more control on building issues and management.
  2. Comparing the built quality of this building to the Crescent is like comparing a Mercedes to a Kia.
  3. looks like Orlando in 2050....because those look like space aliens sitting by the pool.
  4. yea, I sadly noticed after researching. Capitol Yard apt has some for $1800-1900 for 1/1, so that may be doable. D.C. better be an awesome city for that kinda price!
  5. Thanks much for your help. Of those areas you mentioned, including the navy yard area, which one would you recommend? I like drinking and eating out (assuming I make new friends, lol), rent budget between $1400 to 1700, around 700 sf. Navy Yard seems to be good fit for me since things are new, closer to work, but im open to Chinatown or other areas near the Green metro. Ive visited Columbia Height, it was an active area but kinda griddy on certain streets. Thanks
  6. Hello all, I have a potential job for the Navy at the Navy Yard, so I have some questions below if anyone can offer their advice. Quick background, I currently live in downtown Orlando, and have been lucky to be able to walk to work, bars, restaraunts, etc. Life is good here but I look forward to a new job opportunity for the federal government and new city. I have been to DC once in 2013, and it was fun. Im looking for a one bedroom under $2000. 1. Is the Navy Yard area a good place to live? Bars? Restaraunts? From what I read, its booming with developments. 2. Can I walk to work, or is Navy Yard a huge base? 3. What other areas can I live that have public transportation to Navy Yard? 4. Should I own a car? thanks in advance.
  7. Alex, I think the wrap around building in on property across the stree, see attached.
  8. What about Ebola? East blocks of lake avenue.
  9. http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/2014/11/21/downtown-orlando/19320023/ Great write up of downtown Orlando in USATODAY
  10. And the 420ft Startflyer was also announced today. Exciting times for IDrive.
  11. You can see the Orlando Eye on a clear day. Also random pics.
  12. As much as I love WOB being there, kinda bum that the turnabout area is turning into a valet parking lot.
  13. Is that temporary tent gonna be there Saturday for the free Sheryl Crow concert? If so, that open space seems small for a free concert.
  14. ^That's stinks. Moving from an walkable urban setting with lynx, lymmo, and Sunrail connections close by to a 6 lane intersection makes their $1 fare so less desirable. Wonder if the dropoff locations for other cities will be like this.
  15. Sounds like WOB is opening Oct 20, and they will be offering liquor too! They have chairs and tables on the patio now. Took some quick pics of the interior, sorry for crappy resolution.
  16. Anyone knows what occupied the former Loaded Hog/One Eye Jacks 30 years ago? Trying to win a contest, lol
  17. ^Especially with a Lymmo stop in front of this location, it would be disappointing if there are not dining options.
  18. Yea, as of last night, the crane was fully erected at 420. From their webpage, this place seems to be a hoot to live at. "A heated saltwater pool, surrounded by 10,000 SF lounge and activity deck, will be constructed on the fourth of nine levels at Artisan 420. LED shuffleboard, a life-size chessboard and competition-grade Tailgate Toss tournament courts are active amenities planned for the large outdoor recreation deck."
  19. Ah, so this new location is where the City purchased from BBIF last week? If so, Buddy really will do anything to get it built, bad real estate transactions or not. To refresh, City sold to BBIF in 2005 for $850K, and BBIF sold it back to the City for $2 million!! On top of that, the City loaned BBIF more than $800K back in 2005 for developments that were never fulfilled, which BBIF has until 2036 to repay.

    SunRail

Sorry, I meant Lynx. And if you can take the lymmo to the Lynx central station.

    SunRail

Why wait for Sunrail? You can currently take the Lymmo from downtown to the airport for cheaper.
  22. You can see central station apt rising from this view, wish i knew how to make it larger
  23. Refresh me on how to post pics? I clicked on the "image" button and paste the URL from my photobucket, but nothing happens? thanks
