  1. When I think of "tower", this rendering is the last thing that comes to mind.
  2. Having a well known chain eatery in that corner helps balance the foot traffic at the park. Without it, that part of the park will fill abandoned. I used to worked across from it for 10 years, and it definitely was a plus.
  3. To be fair, that video is outdated. Miracle City Mall was torn down last year for an open concept shopping plaza. And that Paul Steakhouse is now Shiloh restaurant, which is always packed (I tried it and not sure why). They even have their first vietnamese restaurant. The area around Super Walmart had more developments, with Super Target, Lowes, etcs. And its the home of Daniel Tosh! I heard Titusville was bustling during the height of NASA, until the end of the shuttle program. I graduated from THS and rather live there then Cocoa, mostly because it feels like an extension of Orlando.
  4. That photo can be mistaken for downtown Titusville, with no high-rises in sight. For such a prominent location, the Modera is much needed.
  5. All great photos above. The only thing missing are people
  6. Sorry if this already been posted, but there's a survey on improving Lymmo below, including adding a fare. http://www.golynx.com/news-events/lymmo-survey.stml
  7. I think its a combination of geography, the State's conservative tax policies, and local progressive mindset.
  8. Totally agreed that its 100% better than a parking lot, but its a bit sad that Orlando developments are being compared to a parking lot. Hope the final product will be better than what Im envisioning. And agreed, hope this construction jump start other pending projects.
  9. that 21+ story building will look underwhelming in that large intersection. Hate to beat on a dead horse, but that corner deserves something more grand and exclusive than a building where you might see beach towels on balconies and drunks at the pool. I wish they could have at least orientate so that the pool is not facing the intersection.
  10. Im not fond of residential buildings with an "L" shape, makes it look more like a resort hotel, and stumpy, especially at this height. Can we edit the title of this forum so I don't get depress knowing its shrank from 36 to 22 stories.
  11. Agreed with above. It will be much more fun if you pre-drink in downtown like at the Lodge, Wall Street, or walk around until you see a good crowd. Uber will be the most convenience way (should be cheap given the distant), or you can take the free Lymmo circulator bus from downtown to about 2 big blocks from the stadium. Have fun!

Dang, sounds like this whole area is regressing. Thought the opening of Fergs would spruce up traffic. Church St needs a few chain restaraunts and call it a day.
  13. Why cant they just buy the Tradition Tower plans and build that instead. Sounds so easy.
  14. What makes you think that there will be a stadium?
  15. ha, now you speaking my language. With the presence of the USTA HQ in orlando, there's a better chance to bring in a professional tournament played in the Spring. I doubt that a US Open series tournament is likely due to the summer heat.
  16. Im crossing my fingers that this tournament comes to Orlando. This will take the city to the next level in international exposure. For non-tennis fans, this is our equilavent to Orlando hosting the NBA all stars, EVERY YEAR. With the construction of the new USTA facility and headquarter in Lake Nona, Orlando may have a chance. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/T/TEN_MIAMI_OPEN_FUTURE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2015-12-30-14-24-40
  17. Panera Bread on lake eola is nice too, lots of space, free wifi, and pastries to go with your coffee. Also, the Starbucks at Bohemian closes earlier than the one in Thornton.
  18. Agreed with Orlando forum. When I started doing research for my move to D.C., I was surprised the last activity was dated 2012 or something like that. My thoughts were that maybe the bigger cities have some much to do that people tend not to talk in forums? Keep it up tho, Im living vicariously through you guys.
  19. That chain link fence in the pool area looks so out of place. Also surprised that you were allowed to take photos on their property, but glad you did.
  20. Thought I give this thread some life. I have been here about two months now. So far, its 50/50. Got a junior 1 bedroom for $1955 near the Navy Yard metro. I like navy yard area, pretty clean, new, and walking distance to my work at the Navy Yard base. But Navy Yard def missing some of the charm of other neighborhood. I can not see myself living here more than couple years. The city is kinda gritty and dirty, expensive, and in my experience, not very friendly (especially bartenders). And I havent even experienced winter yet, lol. Oh well, I remind myself its a life experience and think positively.
  21. A friend of mine who works for the architecture company designing this bldg (hunton brady) said that ground breaking should happen within 3 months because they hoping to move in by late 2017. Hope she's right.
  22. Having just moved to D.C., I really appreciate the photos. Miss Orlando!
  23. With what is being proposed across the street, Tradition Tower would have fitted in nicely.
  24. its definitely look more than 10 stories as stated in the article
