  1. I have just read on "justplanes.com" that NWA will fly non-stop service to Amsterdam using a 757-200 aircraft.
  2. All seems too quite at the Miller and Rhodes site. Any news?
  3. I went to Fu Kim last night, but they only took cash. I asked someone who worked there about relocated. We had a bit of a language barrier. There is a hair dresser on the porposed site who vacated within the last couple of days.
  4. Capital Ale House off of Main Street is doubling in size!!! They will be occupying the space next door (to the west).
  5. I do not know of any other details. I wish I did.
  6. From what I was told by sources, the garage will be incorporated into the new structure above.
  7. I have tried that. No one wants to answer the door. I will drive by the site on my way home and see if anyone else is moving out.
  8. Well another business has left (Mitchell's). It was a male business specialty shop. It looked like another business was starting to pack up.
  9. I was able to take a peak through the windows inside the construction office and noticed that the drawings had a building one floor taller; 60 feet tall.
  10. I was told that a 12-story hotel was once proposed for that site or is it still on the boards? I do not know.
  11. ...also a portion of the back lot of the Murphy Hotel has been flagged off.
  12. From what I know it is not the James Center owners who have the air rights. Though I could be wrong. burt - The perimeter fence for the National is going up as I type.
  13. I have been informed that there are condos to be proposed on top of the RMA Parking Garage, above the Downtown Expressway. Does anyone have info on this?

  15. Demolition permits are done according to City Hall's Permit and Zoning Department.
  16. Demolition has not even started. Sources tell me that pre-sales for the condos begin in January of 2007.
  17. A new high end clothing store will soon open along the Slip. It is called Anthony Lupesco. From a sneak peak, the tenant fit out is almost complete. Clothing racks are currently being installed and it appears that boxes of merchandise have arrived.
  18. Yuppers. There will also be additional street lightings.
  19. I stumbled upon some sidewalk improvements taking place along 12th Street, between the James Center and ROTJ. Sidewalks were being upgarded to brick pavers.
  20. 10 million PAX a record??? I certainly thought BNA served more than 10 million PAX when American had a hub at BNA. It sure seemed like it.
  21. According to VCU's Master Plan, the North Hospital (the ugly white tower) is to be demolished. The building at 12th and Broad is also going bye bye with the new School of Medicine.
  22. I doubt that there is room for three towers. That Art Deco design you had on another thread would be nice.
  23. While at Baskervill's office, I noticed a rendering for a structure that is to replace the North Hospital. I do not know how outdated it is, but the replacement is obsolutely amazing. The rendering I saw was an oval shaped building with a glass facade and precast on the ends of the oval. The building appeared to be taller than the hospital next door. To top off the building, a metal clad crown would ring the top. Is this rendering outdated? According to VCU's Master Plan, the North Hospital is to be eventually demolished to make way for the new Cancer Hospital.
  24. Well I tried to play slick with Baskervill to get any updated renderings. It did not work. They pointed me towards Goodstein. Since Goodstein is hush hush about this project, talking to them may do me no good. Unless...
