  1. Work actually started about 5-weeks ago.
  2. Do remember, the City side of Rockett's Landing can have highrises. Wouldn't this impact the view of the James?
  3. Is there any diagrams that show the proposed route?
  4. What is currently there? How do I get to the site?
  5. West of the silos, but on the north bank of the river?
  6. Where is the Great Shiplock Park? East of West of the Silo's?
  7. I would be for it. Economically, it would make sense since the trend of riverfront development is heading in that direction.
  8. From my understanding, roadway improvements should be occuring soon. A series of fly-overs will be built between the parking garage exits and the main roadway leading into RIC.
  9. I stopped by at the Centennial site and noticed more of the buildings to be demolished are empty and others in the process of moving out.
  10. I will keep my eyes open for progress at the National Theater.
  11. Well since Westin is building in the West End, this could be one less hotel Centennial Towers would pursue.
  12. SHWEET!!! In reality, I have been questioned for my photo tours. The next time I get questioned, I will tell the cops to talk to you.
  13. Good, because I was side tracked at work while trying to goto City Hall.
  14. The site is within the fence of PM. Dirt has been churning there for a couple of weeks. I would doubt that dirt would be turning for M /WV since an annoucement came just recently.
  15. I noticed additional trees and parking areas within the PM Campus have been cleared. Does anyone know what PM is up to?
  16. Absolutely... It is going to have to wat until Monday.
  17. Wow - I had never seen this rendering of the Medical Sciences II... It looks more appeasing than its counter part. According to a GC personel at the Critical Care Tower, the tower crane is to be bumbed up another 150 feet in about 3-weeks.
  18. I did my usual snooping around and found out the street permits for demolition has been granted.
  19. The replacement building will be a duplicate of the Medical Sciences, Phase I.
  20. It is more than a gapping hole. That entire wing is getting the wrecking ball as I type.
  21. Some quick construction updates that I noticed this morning on my way to work: MCV Critical Care Tower - Steel has started to rise... yes steel. The steel appears to be up to the 6th floor while the elevator shafts (concrete) are upto the 10th floor. MCV (former) School of Nursing - The wrecking ball has started to knock down the structure.
  22. I hope to see demo start very soon. I wonder if the status of permits is considered public information. If that is the case, I can walk to City Hall and find out the status of the demo permit or if the demo permit has been filed.
