Just wondering if anyone has been to the zoo recently? The last time I was there multiple exhibits were closed (pre COVID). I was wondering about the status of the master plan and I ran across this article from P&C but I couldn't see much. https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/business/greenville-zoo-revises-operations-after-accreditation-scramble-looks-toward-realistic-future/article_52f1450a-3347-11eb-9c0c-cb0a30b182ef.html

I saw another one somewhere about the zoo having just received new accreditation after making changes to it's hospital and lion enclosure. However, it looks like there are significant funding problems and the master plan is in jeopardy or at least on hold for sometime?

What do you guys think about the zoo?  Is it worth putting millions into it in it's current form? Should they focus on squeezing in bear and wolf exhibits in the current setting?  Should that money be put towards finding a new location?

What I really like about the zoo is that its small and a good family zoo to see in a couple of hours. There is no way Greenville is going to have a zoo to compete with Riverbanks or some other area facilities so I think it's good to have a niche zoo that is good for a different audience. Having said that, I really think it would be nice to have something with a more unique setting and layout than the current zoo allows. I would like to see the zoo relocate to a larger area, not so they can try to make a big zoo to compete with Riverbanks, but so they can have a lot more room for existing animals and find a more unique way to display them. I have always thought finding a way to have a zoo at Paris Mtn would be a good setting; plenty of room, already set up for visitors, etc.
