Crescent Communities breaks ground on Lincoln County industrial project

Crescent Communities is adding to its Axial Industrial brand with a new development in the Charlotte region.

The Charlotte-based developer broke ground recently on Axial Midway 321, an approximately 175,000-square-foot industrial building in Lincoln County. Crescent is targeting March 2025 for the delivery of the project at 3075 Finger Mill Road off U.S. 321. The project is Crescent's fourth in the Charlotte region under the Axial brand, which launched in 2022.................................................

Downtown Kannapolis this afternoon.  The ballpark looks great new Stadium Lofts tallest building downtown is finishing up.  Construction has resumed on the other apartment building in week 2 of restart according to the contractor I talked to today.    Remember the stadium is a city park when not in use and free to roam around in and they now have 2 parklets along Main St check them out.  Gem under renovation inside and will reopen later this spring.

Charlotte developer Terwilliger Pappas to start Huntersville apartment project later this year

Terwilliger Pappas is planning to start construction on a large Huntersville apartment project later this year.

The multifamily developer, which is one of the most active groups in the Charlotte region, will build hundreds of apartments at North Creek Village. Construction will begin by the third quarter, and completion is expected in 2026.

Was down in Rock Hill yesterday picking up some motorcycle parts and had some free time, so I walked around downtown.  I never visited Rock Hill as a kid and don't have as much of a frame of reference, but the amount of clearly recent infill and renovations/restorations is surprising.  There are definitely a TON of cleared/surface lots scattered around though (especially evident from satellite view) and it would really help tie things together if some of those could be redeveloped, particularly the massive White St parking lot.  More trees would be appreciated as well (certainly this will be helped as existing young trees continue to mature).  Was surprised to see there is basically an urban greenway connecting Winthrop with the heart of downtown along White St.

they did convert an old hotel to apartments downtown.  I thought I took a photo of that but I guess I did not.  anyway small downtown but quite a few shops and businesses.

downtown Lincolnton is nice was down in Fort Mill, Waxhaw, Monroe, Mineral Springs today though.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but I caught wind of it while down here recently: Summit Coffee of Davidson has been quietly expanding throughout the Southeast. Its HQ is in Davidson, but apparently, with their plans to expand nationally, they'll soon be building a HQ about 4 miles East of downtown Davidson. The compound will include  a 40 room inn, a working farm, affordable housing and of course a HQ building. they call this the Uwharries I would call it more the Sandhills it is only near the Uwharries but not really in the heavily forested area more in Moore County.

Right. I know. Moore County is just as beautiful and I wish part of it could be tacked on to The Uwharries in order to enlarge the Forest.  

With NC now over 16 million people, Cherokees and Catawbas , and eventually Lumbees, pushing for casinos on land that should be preserved. Pisgah and Dupont being trampled to death, NC is heading towards being loved to death.

Would you rather see cars racing around on public roads, or have racetracks surrounded by thousands of nearby residents who somehow don't enjoy the sound of high performance machines screaming around a circuit?  This will be basically in the middle of nowhere east of I-74, so the environmental and noise impacts should be about as minimal as possible.

"Environmental impacts" will not be lessened just because it's far from population.  People might not hear or see it, but the environment will.  I, personally, would rather see a less-car centric interesting culture, but I know that's just a pipe dream.  I'd rather see more hunting, fishing and hiking.   BTW,  these google earth pics are depressing. Look at the tiny little patchwork of green we call a Forest.  We can't cut down our forests fast enough can we.
