Kannapolis downtown continues to grow.  2 new apartment buildings under construction.  New food hall in the old Cabarrus Bank and Trust called you guessed it the Bank.   Last phase of for sale townhomes finishing up very successful project for the city.

This is more of a ring town the town of Mount Pleasant in Cabarrus County.  the small downtown has been revitalized by restaurants attracting people from all over the region.  

73 and Main is the dinner only steak and bourbon bar (farm to table restaurant) and across the street they own the Cafe Lentz a bakery and deli open for lunch and breakfast.  In this old gas startion on the other corner they are going to do a pizza and taphouse.  So one owner will have 3 different concepts  at the same main corner in the small downtown.  Plus there are a couple of other restaurants.  the 73 and Main is in all hoisery mill.  

I have told many I truly believe this is one of the top steakhouses in the region.

nothing more than the run of the mill state job incentives which are performance based and have clawbacks.

since I was up in Kannapolis for Thanksgiving dinner I took a short walkabout in downtown.  New apartment retail tower by the stadium is nearing completion.     Charleston based Half Moon Outfitters is opening a huge new store in downtown taking up about 3 storefronts.   The Bank is still being renovated for the food hall by Sabor and Armory Brewery.  The most changed and revitalized downtown in the region.   And a proud Dale Sr overlooking his hometown.

I looks like the 200 Main project (last picture) has somewhat stalled over the last several months.  I come through Kannapolis quite a bit on the weekends and the 2nd floor of the project seems where it's stopped since at least July.  Hopefully no financing issues for the developer.

that I do not know as it was today so nobody was working.  But that is the same group as that is doing the others in downtown Kannapolis and maybe they slowed it down to get their other building by the stadium done.

In a move that has sparked curiosity and speculation, the North Carolina legislature has recently earmarked substantial funds for major water and sewage infrastructure upgrades in four communities. Interestingly, these communities are situated near areas where new casinos could potentially be established. While state leaders assert that these infrastructural developments are unrelated to the proposed casinos, the coincidence has not gone unnoticed. The focal point of this controversy revolves around the counties of Union, Rockingham, Nash, and Anson. Each of these counties has been allocated significant funding for water and sewage system enhancements. These upgrades are critical for supporting the growth and development of these communities, particularly in areas that have been experiencing stagnation for decades. For instance, Marshville in Union County, a region described as a 'water and sewer desert,' has seen very little growth, with no new housing developments in the last 30-40 years. This funding is viewed as a much-needed boost to revitalize these areas.  However, the proximity of these infrastructure projects to the proposed casino sites raises questions about the potential link between the two. The town manager of Marshville, addressing questions about the $8 million funding allocated over the past two years, firmly denied any connection with the casino.
