Seven houses and a lone car. I like how you turn the reality upside down, because in San Francisco, cars far outnumber the houses. I love the feeling that this photograph gives me.

Zahc, you are one of the best photographers at Urban Planet! Some of your pictures leave me speechless. What sets you apart from many other photographers on this website, is that you include the human element in your photographs. Cities are full of architecture, yes, but people inhabit them.

I know this place you depict here. It's a place where junkies hang out and shoot up, while the rest of the population sits in the restaurant and view the scene that plays out outside the display window. Here the homeless junkie is passed out, and the pigeons go about their daily routine. This picture is not melodramatic, to me, inspite of the tragic subject matter. Like these pigeons, you see and depict life just as it is, without judging or becoming maudlin. This is the reasons your photographs are so powerful. Again, you remind me so much of my favorite Japanese movie director, Ozu.

Thanks GermanArtist . You have rendered me almost "speechless", too. If only I could write fiction as well and with as much success I probably wouldn't visit UP so often. However, I enjoy visiting & posting in this forum since it seems to bring some people a certain joy from the personal notes I've been receiving...
