Actually this picture that was posted is a still from a video that appeared on the observer homepage, no photoshop involved what so ever.

They are fantastic shots without a doubt, however the building with the best view isn't even featured. That would be Royal Court. I have been looking at these panos not stop, missing my home town. Ten Days til I"m back in town I can't wait!

I don't think the southend view compares to the width that you get from 4th ward. I think the jump in numbers in the voting on the skyline view competition is to build the image before the building that willl be built obscures the entire view....

Beautiful shot but it seems like the Transition to Blurry is a little too unnatural and sudden, makes it look overly photoshopped.

It's a common technique that simulates a miniature scene by exaggerating the shallow depth of field of a close-up photo. Cool effect, but not really applicable to this type of shot. That's why it doesn't look natural.

i also think when its actually done with a tilt-shift camera it is a linear transition, not radial.

still looks kinda cool though. i like the saturation.

Damn I was planning to take this picture when I got to SouthPark on Wednesday, it was going to be my crowning achievement, I'll just have to find something else from my neighborhood. Beautifully Shot though.
