From my trip to Charlotte yesterday.

I've always loved this water fall.  Unfortunately, there were two homeless  people bathing in it when I tried to snap it.   I waited until they were done, though the lady popped back in when I snapped this!

It was on a Sunday afternoon.  There were a ton of homeless people on the benches and sidewalk on East Trade by the fountain.  Sadly, that's life in America in 2022.

They were both standing when I first visited Charlotte in the early 90s.  I thought: "For a little city, this place has some cool buildings!"  Obviously, it's not a "little city" any more, and now it has lots of amazing towers.

Please forgive the poor quality, but in the moment, before the front swept through, through all the pollen, smog, and dust, (from Independence today), the sun was shining on Uptown, and (from my perspective) everything surrounding appeared to be in the shade.
It looked like the heavenly city.

Summer 2012. You can tell that because the SKYE condo building is still under construction. I remember they were trying to finish it in time for the DNC but just couldn't make it.
