Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery will move from it's current Hanes Mall road location; to robinhood road. The new store will open by November 1st in the old Jackson music store on robinhood road.

Update 9-30-07

While on my bike ride to downtown I passed by the new Big Shotz Tavern in the former Lucky 32 spot. I hate that ornamental crown they put on top of the building. It doesn't blend in at all with the rest of the buildings in the center.

H.H. Gregg is coming to Winston-Salem. The electronics and appliance retailer has secured property at 2051 Griffith Road, near Highwoods Square just off Hanes Mall Blvd.

From a glance about two weeks ago, they have already started construction on this. It's near the US Airways Reservation Center, behind CVS.

HH Gregg will build a store at 2051 Griffith Road off Hanes Mall Boulevard. The store has already started construction with most of the cinder block walls already up.

TC, where did you hear this? I remember reading when Flow first announced plans that he would close the Kernersville one due to too much overlap between his Greensboro, Kernersville, and future Winston-Salem Lexus dealerships.

On Stratford Road last Sunday I noticed that Triangle Rent A Car was opening up a location at the old Kentucky Fried Chicken space on Stratford. Very tacky if I must say so myself with the blue and yellow colors they've already painted on the building.

On Stratford Road last Sunday I noticed that Triangle Rent A Car was opening up a location at the old Kentucky Fried Chicken space on Stratford. Very tacky if I must say so myself with the blue and yellow colors they've already painted on the building.

It was hard to make that building any uglier, but they accomplished it with just a few cans of paint.

Ionian Investments have added 1,900 sq ft to the main building at St. George's Square to accomodate an OMBU Wood Fired Fusion restaurant. The restaurant will offer fusion type, wood fired, international cuisine and seat 280 patrons.

A high end pastry and coffee shop called Dolce, offering panini sandwiches and fine pastries is scheduled to open in the fall of this year. High Point Regional Health System is also leasing some of the office space in the center.

The center is also in negotiations for a high-end hair salon and an American Cuisine restaurant.

The center should have trees, stone walkways, patios, a water features, and a soon to be commisioned sculpture.

Some of the buildings should be open by spring.

I'd have to say it was inevitable. The times that I've drove past the place, there was nobody in there. I have a feeling if the Hanes redevelopment goes through, depending on the economy, then many of those blighted properties will get snatched up.
