Thanks for the great shots.

What's the large open area north of the river and south of Wealthy?

Ariel shot of the area here: http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&...1&encType=1

GRDad beat me to it, but here's a link to a short, not very informative thread. hehe.

Thanks for the info guys. I was afraid that was a former landfill. Nice piece of property - other than the neighbors across the river.

Spectacular picture, using the tower motif and picking up Fountain Street Church's bell tower in the far distance.

Beautiful new entrance to the Fitzgerald:

Medical Mile:

That Medical Mile shot absolutely floored me. If I were not a regular denizen of this board, and someone happened to put that picture in front of me and ask where it was taken, I would have absolutely no idea. The changes in this part of GR are astounding. It makes the urban renewal efforts of the 1960s look like a little minor renovation.

From Richmond 2.0 Kisscross race, 11/16/08, Richmond Park. These photos are from the A Race, which is the fastest class. They did 8 laps around a ~1.2-1.5 mile course around the park.

I like how after a hundred years or so, that street scene looks about the same. Just wish there were more street shoppers though.

I love the colors too, such diversity! Oh, and I am so Thankful to Louis Campau for giving us the interesting street grid downtown. I know it can be a little crazy and annoying, but look at the character it gives the city with this shot of the winding road.

In that shot, you can see really well how the block between Pearl and Lyon is crooked because that's where they pushed it through to connect then-Justice Street to Ottawa. Originally they were seperate (I think because of disagreements between Campau and Lucious Lyon.)

The focus isn't great on these, but here are a couple of shots from last week:

Do you (or anyone else) have any (better) pictures of the tree in front of the GRAM? I haven't been able to make it down there this season and probably won't get a chance to :(

Awesome shots by the way!

There are a number of them in the GR Flickr group ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/grandrapidsmi/pool/ ), but you have to go back through the last 15-20 pages to find them. They're pretty easy to pick out though. Here are a couple:

There's also a pretty good Brian Kelly shot on the Rapid Growth banner right now ( http://www.rapidgrowthmedia.com/ )
