They are getting ready to start our new tallest in Grand Rapids at 381'. Riverhouse at Bridgewater Place is residential with commercial on the lower floors. It is also the first building to be built in Michigan over 350' in 13 years, when One Detroit Center was built in 1992 at 619' (in Detroit).

In Minneapolis it is the IDS tower: 241 m, 55 stories and built in 1973.

The Wells Fargo Tower (formerly Norwest Bank) is 236 m, 57 stories and built in 1988.

The Wells Fargo Tower was purposely build to be shorter then the IDS. However, recently a construction worker on the Wells Fargo tower claims he altered the plans and added to the top of the building so that it would be the tallest building --it is a min-scandal!

IDS is the tall building on the Left (two antenn.). The WellsFargo building is on the far right.

They are getting ready to build the Granby Tower and its going to be 31 stories and over 450 tall. They are also building a Westin in Vabeach the is suppose to be 508 feet tall.

Orlando's tallest building is the SunTrust Tower at 32 floors and 441 feet. It was constructed in 1988 at a cost of $100 million for its 654,678 square feet.

It's the building with the teal pyramids on its roof:

Currently, Virginia Beach's tallest is the 23 storey AH Tower in our Town Center ..

but its position will be unseated by a new 38 storey Westin (also located in Town Center) which will break ground next month. The Westin, at 501 feet tall, will be the tallest in the state. :)

Bank of America @ 60 stories tall. Shy of 900 ft. However, Rumors floating of Wachovia's building to trump the BofA. Praying for a 1000+ footer. Hoping to see renderings in the next few weeks. Will post when released.

I thought the new Wachovia was only (only being used as a relative term) supposed to be about 40 stories :huh: .

I beleive the longer the wait, the higher the tower.

Not even our Wachovia insider knows anything.

The City passed funding for the arts that Wachovia wanted, BOA Chaiman supports the arts in the Wachovia plan. Wachovia said they would go higher, if the arts plan was approve.

Well we will see soon. :whistling:
