Oh yeah, I went and spoke with a salesperson there. They want 5000.00 reservations, does not lock in a price or unit. They say their lenders are getting creative with coming up with the 15% down payment. It was nice but something about it just didn't feel right for me. Shooting for a January groundbreaking.

I noticed on my walk today that the buildings at the site of Eola Place are now marked for demolition.

demo... do you all think this will really get built? I've seen signs in the neighborhood for the project... has a sales center opened on this?

I've seen demo signs on some of those buildings for over six months. I'll have to walk down in a minute to see if this is new.

The sales center is at 330 E Central between the Waverly and the Paramount site. I hear they may do a groundbreaking event next month for the demo. I looked at the units but the are a little out of my range. What is the probabillty of this being built? I have no idea. But they said as soon as they reach their sales goal, they would begin construction. I looked at the units in the Jackson and the majority of the units do not have windows that face Eola Place. The penthouse balcony on the west side will stare into the garage, but overall they will be okay.

And as another concession, because of the narrow lot, there are no interior halways and all units will have to be accessed from an exterior walkway similar to The Jackson. While this allows for a floor-thru plan, there's just something wrong about spending that much money on a unit that lacks the comfort and amenities of other condos in the hood. All that said, it will be a nice addition to the neighborhood and won't upset anyone worried about view corridors.

That doesn't make sense to me - if there's room for an exterior walkway, why wouldn't there be room to enclose it?

I hope they are serious about building. I would hate to see this apartments/homes torn down and nothing get built. Ah-La uptown style.

I received an invitation today that the demolition/ ground breaking for Eola Place will Be Dec. 15th at 3:00PM. I guess this is the next one to move some dirt. Eola Drive will definetly be impressive with all of this residential going in...

Wow, that's awesome. If 201 gets started soon, then Eola Drive will really be legitimate. Too bad the same can't happen for Summerlin but with mid-rises.
