I amazingly agree with you. The colors within the signage are far too bright in my opinion. Makes it look like the sun is out even when it's completely dark outside. My guess is that they approved it because it complies with the sign ordinance in terms of structure. i.e. hangs over the sidewalk: http://www.greenvill...3-10adopted.pdf

Oh and if you think that sign is bad, just wait until the one for Mac's goes up if it got approved. Should be a hoot.

North Street has some of my favorite older store fronts and historic facades (in addition to North Laurens Street). Here's one, home to the corporate offices of Wireless Communications, at the corner of E. North Street and Brown Street:

I took a picture of this building on Sunday too. The side entrance, which is not shown is more promenient now, too. This building stands out much more now. The view from E. North toward the Piazza Bergamo is looking good as the ONE building rises up.

This is a side of downtown that could use...well anything really. The vacant post office sits on a decent sized piece of property and this lot is just sitting with weeds growing out of it. Anybody know anything about the USPS building? Have there ever been any proposals for the site or any talk of it's future?

This is a side of downtown that could use...well anything really. The vacant post office sits on a decent sized piece of property and this lot is just sitting with weeds growing out of it. Anybody know anything about the USPS building? Have there ever been any proposals for the site or any talk of it's future?

Always looked at this location and wondered the same thing. Big eye sore from Church St. Bridge too. Seems like it would be a great place for an urban village, similar to McBee.

This site was CONSIDERED for the new Federal Building but of course, that went to E. North St. instead. There is a large swath of land from Falls Park north toward Broad Street that is in the hands of just two properties owners. Doing a major project would be relatively easy, I would think.

Good photo. I can think of several areas like this that ring downtown.

Recently helped with a video shoot of some local hoopers. Here's a photo during a location change. Greenville is good! More street performing needs to happen and I think with the new laws that TimTv is helping set in place it will be much easier for folks to get out there and show their talent.
