I wasn't feeling well wednesday night so I went driving around and decided to have some fun taking photos.

So at this point its probably about halfway to vertical completion. Should be approximately another four months until that time I guess.

Nice pix,, one thing that ticks me off about kleman plaza is how it is generally very nice, but they totally neglected the stage area and stairs between Plaza tower and tallahassee center.. it looks ratty trashy and not cared for... I remember when it opened there used to be open mic and performances there, but now it sits delapitated as ever. comon tally, we can do better.

I agree! We certainly can. Whatever happened to using it for plays, and small concerts. I think the Local Schools should take more advantage of it, and perhaps the city/mayor could make major announcements from it.

Just going by the renderings, there seems to be about five stories of balconies left. However, the roof, even though it is only three stories, seems quite tall (ornament aside). So I'm at least hoping that it is currently a little past halfway and we have plenty more tower to go.

There are 8 more levels to go before the roof and ornament. I believe the top floors may be slightly taller than the others.

I'm certainly not a major fan of the Capitol because I'll much rather see taller more interesting structures in downtown, but when driving east on Tennessee Street one can't help but notice that the Plaza Tower project is directly in the line of sight of the Capitol. I suppose the one positive effect would be the appearance of more density in downtown.

What bothers you most about the capitol, its height or its design. I love the design, just wish it were taller with a spire at the top. Similar to this building in Mobile.

4 new crane pieces on site as of this morning. Looks as though they are about to be raised again.

I just wish it was taller. I like the symmetry while drive west on Apalachee Parkway. The design is kind of bland and reminds me of the former World Trade Center Towers in NYC. Wasn't the Capitol drawn up by a New York designer?

GG, I was on my way downtown this evening when the rain began to fall, so no pictures yet. But I did see what you reported and I would guess this would be, maybe, the final lift of the cranes? Toolman is probably more qualified than anyone else I know of on this issue. But things are really lookin' good downtown! At least from 3 miles away!

That is really cool Toolman. Sadly though, it doesnt look alot taller than the Tallahassee Center. I hope they do indeed add the dome.

Based on this CSI-like simulation of what 8 more floors will look like, my guess is another lift on the North crane will be forthcoming.

BTW - I sat out there Friday morning and watched them add the sections. It was pretty neat. It probably only took about 10 minutes per section once everything was ready.
