Infrastructure is on the way

Recommended Posts

  • "The stars don’t often align in the federal government, and we are at this moment where the White House, the House and the Senate are all in agreement that this is the time to dramatically increase investment in infrastructure," said Sean Jeans-Gail, vice president of policy and government affairs for the Rail Passengers Association.
  • "And passenger rail, a transportation mode that is traditionally ignored in the United States, has more to gain than other modes," he added.

Amtrak’s proposal for its share:

I'd love to see Jacksonville to NOLA reconnected. CSX has repaired the tracks that were damaged during Hurricane Katrina that caused the Sunset Limited (Orlando to Los Angeles) to stop serving Florida.  Having that southern connection would be huge.

The reconciliation package also contains a key opportunity to help preserve and rehabilitate historic properties. There is a tremendous potential to pass important enhancements to the Historic Tax Credit via the Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act, including an increase to 30% for small projects and other improvements to encourage more redevelopment projects.  It's got over 60 bipartisan co-sponsors in the House and a handful in the Senate.

So, we are really a B or A but get low grades for childcare and drinking water. I will take it.

do they have money for the "mortgage burdened"?

if by bridges they also mean overpasses, then, ok...

So they were too busy trying to impeach Trump on bologne BS instead of working on his infrastructure plan.  whatever.

What business does the Fed have to do with increasing broadband?

And which manufacturer's exactly?

And are they talking about giving homes free solar?  7 out of 10 of the largest solar companies are Chinese.  coincidence this coincides with the green new deal and all this other BS of killing pipelines in PA, a state that apparently voted for Biden?

Internet access has become so vital, it makes sense they see it as infrastructure.

But here is my hot take, the feds should not be in the business of most infrastructure and should leave it to the states to raise their own revenue to pay for capital projects.

Florida is a little like that, right, with all the toll roads we've built...
