Updated rendering on their site does show the flatter facade (no balconies) but does still have what appears to be brick lower section, so hopeful....so while, less interesting than initial rendering, it would still be a great project if this is the final rendering.

Great photo vantage.  I guess the SouthEnd Skyline is beginning to shape up some.  The QB Apartment Tower under construction will begin to help merge SE with Uptown for a continuous run of towers.  I do like/prefer a dense robust yet slightly expansive Skyline over multiple pockets of Skyline views for the Core City.  We will have some Highrise pockets though as Midtown/Pearl start taking off as well as SouthPark and eventually Ballantyne.  

I do think that Midtown/North Hills in Raleigh looks fantastic from a skyline perspective.

I think you are correct, it looks like the main exterior architectural columns will be black! Also, it looks like they kept a portion of the side to be completed with all brick!

Furthermore, the article states there are 2 full floors available and expected to be filled by the end of the year.   This building opened in early 2022 so it has been a 2-year lease up everyone needs to be patient with 110 East Tower as where else can you find new space in the heart of the Southend?

Most of these lease deals (including Vanguard) show we are just doing musical chairs with firms already in the Charlotte market doing a flight to quality. The pre-Covid days of lots of white collar firms relocating people to a new city (Honeywell, Sealed Air, Truist, Centene, et.) to create net-new demand for space still seems to be slowing / largely gone. Not a great time to own an old office as tenants have options to upgrade now with space sitting on the market.
