I noticed that yesterday too! That’s definitely encouraging. I’m ready to see this inactive portion of South Main Street come alive with the addition of Gather GVL and this proposed project. I’m hopeful these developments will spark interest and eventual infill projects in the handful of spots across the street from this project site.  With the current construction of the SC Children’s Theatre on Augusta Street, there will be a solid axis of movement in this area.

Not that I have seen. The “gone” sign that was on the “available” sign is well...gone however.

These things take many months to go through the approval process.  The Construction labor force is tight too. They already have millions in the site purchase and design. Hotel occupancy levels continued strong in 2017. No reason to panic.

Not sure but they may be  considering long-term lodging to be 'residential'.  Hard to imagine they are changing the use but not changing the architecture at all.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this project is moving forward. Surveyors on site making spray paint markings everywhere.
