  1. That is what I was thinking also. The Riverplace fountain will be maintained with money from regime fees from the businesses and residents (Condo owners pay one monthly fee for their building and another yearly fee for the entire complex). Whereas, the fountain next to the Main St. would have been the city's responsibility. I think the ongoing costs would have been too much.
  2. I agree. Unless they are enormous, say 3000 sf, I think the sales may be slow going. Plantation on Pelham townhomes started in that range, and they at least have a view.
  3. The Link to the above mentioned article.
  4. That is one fine looking bridge! This is going to be wonderful. I am looking forward to walking all along the river there.
  5. Morretti's sign is up on Butler Rd! I would think it would take a month or two to get them open, but I am glad that they are going to open up again.
  6. The last I heard from the developers of Crescentwood Village in Mauldin (Butler Rd and I-385), Morettis was moving into the middle building. But I was there a couple days ago and there has been no upfitting going on in that location.
  7. A possible reason: Baby Boomers have started to retire. Even if only a small percentage of them downsize to a condo, that would still require millions of units nationwide. Another reason: Young professionals either don't have the time or the desire to take care of a yard. I like the trend. It leads to less sprawl.
  8. I am a huge fan of Travinia (Italian with a great Sunday brunch) on Woodruff. The sushi from Mimi's Steakhouse on Woodruff is very good, but I think Irashai and Tsunami are tied for the lead on that one. The Melting Pot is a great place for a group to have fun for several hours. Henry's Smokehouse on Wade Hampton is my fav BBQ. Thank goodness its dinner time, I'm starving!
  9. I just read that article. Very interesting. I lived in that area for several years (and will probably move back soon) and never once heard it referred to as the NorthEnd. Is that a new moniker?
