  1. Stranger things have happened! There have been a few side by side projects here, like Joseph / Marriott / Holiday Inn. The staging area is key, and Tony already has that However, as mentioned earlier by @Auntie Yock, does the YMCA tower help or hurt the chances of this project? My opinion is it helps, but that is my opinion only. There's always about 14 million other reasons why it could not happen though
  2. I'm not a huge fan of monorail due to the slow speeds; however, I agree a monorail line from the airport to downtown would be popular and the speed would be acceptable If ya wanna get me excited, replace monorail with maglev!!
  3. The difference is 1) a 7,500 ft runway vs a 11,000 runway that is capable of landing an A380 as well as most anything that flies, and 2) the distance from uptown/downtown to the flight path is much less in Nashville Initial design, environmental studies, property acquisition, etc is underway to extend one of the 3 parallel runways to 12,000 ft so hopefully that will get the FAA to relax the height limits, eventually Long range plans for BNA are to add a 4th runway, also. Today, BNA has 2 landing in parallel with one waiting for takeoff; however parallel landings are not the normal at BNA
  4. It is a separate project, so it should not impact this. It would be interesting to see this go at the same time as the YMCA tower
  5. It would be reasonable to expect nothing more than 16 stories, which is in line with everything else going in on Division St. Possibly 20ish stories, like Albion
  6. I've seen a couple of Food City that was nice, but I would have to live in an area with one before I could do any comparison to Publix or Kroger. I don't recall seeing a brick oven pizza, but have seen Starbucks and sushi in Food City Yes, hope for some restaurants better than fast food, but not sure if Chick-fil-A or, example, Red Robin works there yet. But that could be the alternative to Interstate Drive in the future
  7. They're coming for us! lol But it is a bit interesting to see they've made it to Cookeville
  8. I love this information on demand service! Thanks! The slope/hill is a main reason why I asked about that. It seems like the light they mark as proposed would be the only access to the site fronting 111 - and that site plan seems to predict that as the future Agree with your thoughts on high density residential, but I would be ok with more retail there, and it may very well be both, down the road Food City should do well there. I almost expect Starbucks to be included, as well
  9. That is correct -Niagara Falls, Ontario is the largest, 512 -Nashville is the 2nd largest, but the largest in USA, 508
  10. And thanks for the info! I appreciate the summary! I was taking a guess as to what @nashscanwas referring to, but I will not make assumptions and let @nashscanreply
  11. The largest Embassy Suites is 512 rooms, at Niagara Falls. So, Nashville will be #2, assuming the final room count is 508 https://www.urbanplanet.org/forums/topic/117890-embassy-suites-30-stories-500-rooms-1-hotel-18-stories-221-rooms/?do=findComment&comment=1461410
  12. What about the 111 frontage? This raises a lot of questions. Is that property separate? What about access? Do you have any knowledge or thoughts about that?
  13. MNPD is currently short about 100 police officers. Because of the shortage of people, decisions must be made on how to best allocate resources (officers) With that said, I'm sure that is what @nashscanwas referring to with 'limited resources' Do you know what the 20% for safety includes? I would assume police and fire; what about ambulance, animal control, etc? Are they part of Safety or other?
  14. Somehow, we went from cute little pedal taverns to rolling bars like this: Who approved the license for this? And what on earth were they thinking? Before, people with families saw pedal taverns and thought they were cute; now they see this rolling down the street and run
  15. Chris, so sorry to hear. You will be my thoughts and prayers
  16. There were 2 terminal access points added, for a total of 6. Of course, September 2023... The TARI project does help in the reconfiguration will add an additional lane and slightly lengthen the loading/unloading zones. **My comment: need enforcement, because people park there for 30 minutes blocking traffic. I think the cell phone waiting area needs to be the size of Opryland and a dedicated space for ride sharing A trip through LAX will quickly reveal the benefits of BNA terminal layout and the central security checkpoint. Thanks @PruneTracyfor all your points To @MLBrumby, I wish we had something to transport people from one side of the airport to the other. But it's really not needed, currently. We don't currently have passengers landing at the last gate in C or D and catching a connecting flight on the last gate of B or the (future new) A. People movers would be nice for folks with less mobility, but the concourses are not wide enough. There is a huge question regarding pre/post security and a subway/train connecting to the new terminal (tentatively planned here: But I still think this would be a more interesting solution to move passengers between concourses!
  17. At the 49 second mark, that is where we are now: The hole you referenced will be the International Arrivals Facility shown in purple: And the view from inside (looking towards Concourse C/D
