  1. Thanks! That was with a Nikon D40 with a 55-200mm lens @ 105mm. As soon as I get my tax money back I'm upgrading to a D90 yay! Here are two more photos from last night as well, and were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens.
  2. Northlake is sort of an odd place. It hasn't really gotten one particular reputation yet. Some people tell everybody to avoid it - it is unsafe and an extension of the Sunset Ave exit. Others call it "Northpark" - Charlotte's new upscale area that's stealing Ballantyne's thunder. And everything in between.
  3. I would imagine Salisbury-based Food Lion would rank pretty high. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they had a booth and were a sponsor at Pride last year.
  4. Yeah, the flight to Tokyo was the same for me. This was back several years ago. The sound wouldn't work and the CRT TVs were fuzzy. The fight I had from Tokyo to Hong Kong, however, was on a fairly new 777 that was worlds better. It was my first flight that had in seat entertainment in coach. And the service was better.
  5. For me, comfort always varies from plane to plane. Chicago to O'hare to Tokyo on an old United 747 was awful. Tokyo to Hong Kong an a newer United 777 was heaven. This summer I flew Delta to Puerto Rico, and the flights from CLT to ATL and back on their recently renovated 737-800s was nice. ATL to SJU on an old 757 sucked. The main thing is having the in seat LCD TVs. For me, that makes or breaks a flight. Oh, and JFK to CLT on Jetblue gets two thumbs up!

  13. Once I was afraid I was going to get a ticket. I'm not sure if this is breaking the rules, but I bought a round trip ticket at Stonewall, went down to East/West, and came back up to 7th St. At 7th I realized that my ticket probably was good to return to Stonewall only. Oops. I would've hated for a boneheaded mistake to cost me 50 bucks.
  14. Unless they just started it, I've never seen an AA 738 at CLT. Only AA MD-82s and American Eagle EMB135/145.
  15. Yeah, it was pretty cool. I tried to cover it but it ended up I had to leave a little early. Here's my report on the rally.
  16. I wonder what conference they would play in? The A10 doesn't have football, so many of the A10 schools that do have football play in the Colonial League. That conference has an even 6 teams in each division, so they may not be willing to take in a new team. Geographically, the Southern conference and the Big South conference make a lot of sense. The Southern conference is old and very historic (many ACC and SEC team started out in the Southern conference) and their teams are major powers in the FCS, so they may not be willing to accept a brand new program. Than leaves the Big South, with teams like Charleston Southern, VMI, Gardner-Webb, and Liberty. Newcomers to FCS-level football Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian have joined the growing conference. This may be the best fit at first for the University of Charlotte football program.
