  1. Yeah, sorry I mean Garden Inn.
  2. Is that supposed to be the site of the Residence Inn hotel, or is that going to only be on the corner of McDowell and Davie?
  3. Someone on another forum found the Gensler renderings. Seeing the overall project I'm less disapointed that I was initially - two 20 floor residential towers, 15 floor office, and 12 floor hotel. Nice pedestrian plaza, lots of retail.
  4. They should go talk to Charlotte FD because it is of no issue to them. This is probably just another bargaining chip they want to use for more raises yet again. Perhaps Council could pay to send them to Charlotte for a weekend for some remedial training.
  5. Yeah, at minimum a hotel/residential tower should be at least as tall as Skyhouse. At minimum.
  6. The city council should have preemptively raised the height limit to 40 floors for this site (or, better yet, remove all height restrictions downtown). 15 floors is such a disappointment for a site that deserves to be the new-tallest, especially after we saw ideas of what could be: Hopefully, a tower on the Nash square side of the project will be 30+.
  7. Is it topped out or does it have one more floor to go? From the webcam: I can see it from my office window now:
  8. From a promo video for the building: Driving by last Wednesday:
  9. I would think at most they would go as tall as North Hills tower 1 or tower 2, but I'm surprised by this. 40 floors is what the old N&O site should be going to. If it were anybody but Kane I would call this pie in the sky but this I take as a serious proposal.
  10. We have like 5 stalled hotel projects in downtown; as with all of them I'll believe it when I see it going vertical.
  11. Packard Place in Charlotte was converted from an old parking deck.
  12. I guess right now Air Canada is using little CRJ regional jets on RDU - Toronto? When you mean up-gauging do you mean a larger plane?
  13. Definitely need a shimmer wall or mural or something on that ugly parking deck. Something like this one in Charlotte: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/article186089223.html
  14. RESEARCH TRIANGLE REGIONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION owns the warehouse to the west of the Dillon. They want to do some mixed up redevelopment of it. I wonder if they would partner with Kane?
  15. The Triangle is fortunate that RDU serves so many destinations given it's not officially a hub. More than any in the southeast outside of Charlotte or Atlanta. It serves more direct flight destinations than Nashville but a few less than Austin.
  16. I don't think Fayetteville Street is very boring. Raleigh has been able to keep a lot more historic buildings that Charlotte has.
  17. To be honest I'm a bit jealous of the FNB tower Charlotte is getting. A bit taller at 31 floors and I think looks slightly better.
  18. It was pretty much topped out in that picture. Here's the live webcam: https://app.oxblue.com/open/heritage/oneglenwood
  19. Yeah, think of The L that wraps the Wake county parking deck.
