we got a very brief flurry in providence today.

if it's a cat, we have been using city kitty. they've been fantastic, but they only take cats.

just thought i'd tell everyone that i finally got the macbook pro. it's nice, though there's certain things i really miss about windows (like more access to greater configuration of things and the sexiness that is vista).

it changes the date whenever someone votes in it, but still shows the last poster. i think it's a bug in the software.

that was cute, but he gets locked out of the bedroom at night or else we'll be up all night. perhaps when he's older and calmer, he'll have more access to the other rooms... until then, he's a wacko at night and gets locked out.

it depends on the merchant. i believe if they have a store in RI, they have to charge the tax.

there was no tax that was supposed to take effect, the ban would have ended allowing the gov't to tax the internet (which i think would've been purchases on the internet, like sales tax). the house voted to extend the ban another 4 years (because the senate wouldn't go for a permanent ban apparently).

the park closes at dusk, but the ski run is pretty accessible. you can either take the easy trail by the trail map to get it or hike straight up the ski run (though the ski run is somewhat steep, steeper than i had expected it to be, probably a tougher green circle or easy blue square run on a medium sized ski mountain). not sure how safe i'd feel. there was some guy there watching his kids skateboard in the skate park who was making jokes at us for going hiking (and my fiancee had her good film camera to take some shots). the neighborhood didn't seem unsafe to me and silver lake seems quite cleaner than the last time i was through there about a year ago. there's a nice parking lot for the park. i'd say it's one of the best parks in the city. i don't know if that answers your question though. to be on the safe side, you might want to take a friend with you... if anything to help you lug any camera equipment up the hill.

my fiancee and i went up to neutaconkanut park in silver lake today... the views from the ski run are fantastic. here's a taste... anyways, the park is a great little getaway from the city life without leaving the city. once you get up into the hiking trails (some of which are tough), you completely forget you're still in providence.
