  1. "By Charlotte I meant metaphorically the people organizing the Charlotte Bid. He is one of the primary organizers of the Charlotte bid and he was being interviewed due to his role in that bid. I would assume that he speaks for his following team members: " Well if you would like to change the definition of Charlotte from "A city in North Carolina" to that, then I guess by all means you are correct. But I am speaking fo the city of Charlotte, which is not spoken for by this man. So he was speaking HIS opinion, which is not everyones.
  2. Charlotte did not stoop to any level. The gentlemen who made the comment did. If it makes anyone look bad, it is him. No one will associate this comment with Charlotte mudslinging, because niether our mayor nor the chamber of commerce made such a statement. He speaks for himself.
  3. I am afraid of this not being announced Monday... I will spend the rest of March checking this thread every couple of hours !!

I enjoy the front, but think it would look better if it wasn't 1 great side, 2 medicore sides, and 1 unsightly side, and if it were built in a different location.... When Levine builds his urban village over there, that view will become even worse... but then again, it could cause it to stick out a lot less and possibly make it less prominent... I just think that this skyscraper juxtapositioned next to the phone building (forgotten its name) creates a line of bland architecture.

Wow, you have figured me out ::snap:: Paranoid, are we? It is funny if someone doesn't agree with 80% of people in here, they start to lash out. It is not like what I say is going to change anything, so please, don't work yourself up over my dislike for the building. I agree with Metro.M, it does look like the Duke Power building. And a mixture of the building with the 2 elevator shafts... The only redeeming quality is the front, which for some reason has NO good place to view it other than 6th or 7th.... and when stuff gets built there, then there will be no good view of it.

  11. Which school do you think would have a large enough baseball stadium to handle major league baseball in NC?
  12. I heard it was between us, portland, and vegas... i hope they come here.... but then again, i guess i hope everything comes here... lol
  13. A Fox News Teaser just proclaimed a surprise announcement that KC is the winner... but they started out by saying 'could' so it may be a lot of hype for nothing... but who knows
  14. Its 5 different people/angels that are all going into the sky, anchored by a giant angel... its about 18 feet high
  15. It's really sad to hear about the Priest not having his church rebuilt in Pearlington in that article... Out of all the places I worked with the Red Cross, Pearlington and the Ansley/ La France area hit me the hardest... These people really deserve better. Fema and the Red Cross are a mess.
  16. I just think the name "Marlins" doesn't really fit Charlotte... can we change that if they came here?
  17. was riding by the new 2 story building next to Carpe Diem and they were installing a cool sign that had a martini glass and "cocktail" something written on it... Wonder if it will become a club?
  18. I personally like the idea. Christmas decorations in malls are predictable, and boring. This is a cool concept, and even thought it is partially promoting a movie, it is also promoting imagination. And that is something this season lacks. Plus, it is nice to have decorations that don't center around religion only, b/c there are many people who aren't christian shopping at these malls too.
  19. Here is a picture of the Grand Theater The theater closed in 1967 and later became a JCSU dorm, a barber shop, and apartments
  20. This is awesome news for Biloxi! I want to live there!

I never got the whole "no 13th floor" thing... but then again, when I was in the Westin I thought it was even weirder that they have a 13th floor... the first thing that popped in my mind was "omg! they aren't supposed to have a 13th floor!!"... how did this even start?
  23. It is probably referring to its proximity to the lake which is North of the city of Charlotte.
