  1. wow, that's a great look at the West End and a great view of Riverplace! coming along nicely!!!
  2. OH WOW! I love it. I like how dense the area looks with the bookends and NBSC and wachovia. NICE!!!
  3. That can be great news that it's not going to be any taller. I mean sure it would be great to increase the height of the skyline, but just maybe that means that MORE of these towers will actually happen and sooner... ??
  4. I remember hearing a long while back about a sporting place thing that was going to locate in Greenville. Columbia already has one and they wanted to expand up here. It was going to be even bigger and better than Columbia's apparently... but what is goin on with that? Anyone know? and does anyone know where it's going?
  5. I originally reported this. To my knowledge, the design that we've been seeing was never REALLY going to happen. From what I understand, it was more of like a marketing sort of thing... They are currently actually designing it for the FIRST time.
  6. I'm just curious... But, are the trees that front 85 going to be removed??? Trees are nice and all, but it kills the presence of these buildings. It's hard to see and I usually never even notice the BMW building at ICAR, and last time I went by, trees were left along the interstate on the Hubbell plot... do yall know or will it not end up hindering the presence that we make for ourselves along I-85???
  7. That is such a cool building... nice pic
  8. Well, I believe I'll take advantage of this 2-a-day thing. It's kind of old, from last winter, but, it's all I've got right now.
  9. That's exactly what I was thinking
  10. Would any of you venture to say that this is the announcement that the city and county were keeping tight fisted? That was a "major" economic news or development...? Hmmm.
  11. I'm loving this talk about the building across from city hall... 15-20 stories
  12. The Tower at Falls and Broad, which I found out today, will not end up being built and looking like the renderings that have been released and you've seen so far. They are still designing the appearance. So that means there's still a chance for MORE "drama" going on at the top of our newest landmark.
  13. Never really wondered why... but now i'm intrigued!
  14. Well, Columbia's the most liberal place in the state.
  15. I honestly don't know what is up with this, but I have seen some renderings of some big West End development near the stadium... It includes from what I could tell was a large parking garage among other things. I think it's going to hinder the views of the Central Business District from the stadium... but it's more progress for that area!!! But like I said, I don't know if it's just a consideration or if it's a GO.
  16. Can't deny that Greenville is a rising star. A diversified economy, lots of great projects being developed, and a prime location. (I know there is more, but i dont have much time, maybe someone could help me out here)
  17. hahaha, it wont be a high rise...
  18. well, I have found out from a very reliable source that some more residential units are "possibly" coming to the west end!!! Their idea sounds great... but that's all that I can say at this time.
  19. Well, you have to draw from the whole community, the college scene just has to add to mix. Obviously festivals can't do it by themselves, but it's even more obvious that there's something lacking from these "events" that don't draw businesses to the area and further development...
  20. I would have to disagree. Look at Greenville's Historic WestEnd District. It's now thriving and growing rapidly. One thing that all of DT Greenville offers is FREE PARKING on nights and weekends -- on the street and in garages across downtown. Festivals-- We do very well in that as well. Fall For Greenville is very popular among others. Columbia could do very well with festivals in those sections of DT with a festival during the fall or spring while USC is in-session. JMO
