  1. Wow! Does that mean that excavation Is done and that this will start rising soon? Now I’m really looking forward to the soccer match in ten days!!
  2. I was at the ATC tonight. Nothing is happening here yet.
  3. Is excavation still continuing here? Does anyone know if steel will begin rising before Christmas? I have my tickets to see the Chelsea match. I look forward to it.
  4. This sounds promising. I wonder how long excavation will take before we see steel rising above ground.
  5. Is the tenant a US Bank? (I like how you phrased it.) How much space (in terms of square feet) does US Bank current occupy in Charlotte? Do you think that they’ll take 300k sf, 500k sf, or even fill the tower. I was surprised to see that it’s 750k sf.
  6. It seems that we are already in a recession. Many projects in NY and Miami are proceeding. It should be the same in the QC. By the time the recession ends, the projects will be well-along and ready for tenants.
  7. I haven’t been to Charlotte for a month. Can someone post an update as to what’s occurring here? I hope to come to the Chelsea-Charlotte FC game.
  8. Since Riverside will build on spec if necessary, have they indicated when construction might start?
  9. Is Riverside still planning to build this in stages?
  10. That’s a beautiful building, but I prefer the one we’re getting.
  11. That’s amazing news. The top of this building reminds me of the Westin in Times Square.
  12. Has it been announced when demolition will start? The Wilson Library is beautiful, as is the whole UNC campus. I love strolling through there. My favorite library in America is the Morgan Library Museum on Madison Ave. It was JP Morgan’s personal library, and the collection of historic books and documents is beyond amazing (e.g., they have handwritten notes and diagrams that Gallileo drafted while observing Jupiter in 1609). The museum/library consists of several buildings joined together which are Gilded Age icons. The Beaux Artes Polish Consulate to the north is also stunning.
  13. NC’s Second City (after Charlotte) is looking better and better. This addition will be really nice. P.S.: It’s really funny that people from Raleigh are puzzled when I express my opinion that Durham is better than Raleigh.
  14. Even though Wells closed the museum in Charlotte, is there still a stage coach in Uptown? I never noticed one way or the other when I’m in Uptown.
  15. I was unaware that they had one of these in NY until I read this thread. https://www.spottedbylocals.com/newyork/wells-fargo-ny-office/?cn-reloaded=1 Wells Fargo NY Office – A real stagecoach! Last checked: May 25th, 2022 | By: Geoffrey Dunbar In the 1956 Harrison & Abramovitz designed Socony-Mobil Building on East 42nd Street (just east of Madison) — formerly the only centrally air-conditioned building in the world and the first to be clad entirely in pleated stainless steel panels (and still the largest of that type in the world) — resides the disgraced Wells Fargo Bank company. Disgraced, because for more than a decade, until 2015, in order to boost the bank’s stock price, Wells Fargo’s top executives pressured low-level employees to secretly create more than two million unauthorized and false checking and credit-card accounts. Tried. Guilty. Fined 180 Million dollars. Disgraced a second time because of ‘fraudulent’ loans and sales. Tried. Guilty again (2020). Fined 3 Billiondollars. A truly unruly, wild west barroom type of scofflaw, Wells Fargo appears to be. Anyway, in the lobby of this super New York skyscraper is, appropriately, a Wells Fargo stagecoach — an original, the real thing — in blood red livery with olive green velvet/velour upholstery, minus the dust and the four horses that pulled it, and the driver and shotgun armed escort — Wyatt Earp was a Wells Fargo rider and maybe escorted this very coach….
  16. The changing face of Charlotte. The old SouthPark is represented in the second photo, whereas, the new SouthPark is represented in the first photo. These houses are directly across the street from each other. I suspect that it’s a matter of time before the old house is razed.
  17. I’m not sure what will happen, but Wells is looking for another 1m S.F. of space in addition to the 500k that it leased in a new building in the Hudson Yards. Hopefully, Wells will build another tower here too. Is Wells one of the rumored tenants for Riverside’s Midnight Diner site?
  18. How many square feet does that lease entail? The building looks tiny.
  19. I wonder if the hotel and apartments will start soon or if they’ll just wait for the office tensor and start the whole project at once.
