If this is approved and Wendy's makes the move, then this also frees up a very good corner for some legit development. I'd love to see that corner get a new building, with some Spartanburg character designed into it!

So we checked out The Kennedy last night, what a treat: We came late Monday at about 9:20pm, despite the fact that they close at 10, we were welcomed. The restaurant is intimate, designed to feel like a 1930’s/40’s Art Deco space with 50’s elements. A great design, fabulous execution and dimmed lighting give The Kennedy a upscale vibe. We were seated by a very pleasant lady. Here’s a small highlight for you... she accidentally dropped one of the menus... she apologized and went to get a new one, that’s right, she didn’t put a menu that was just on the floor onto the table. I was thoroughly impressed. The service was awesome, our server was so well versed on every detail of the menu. He explained every dish in great detail and even the signature cocktail menu. Rock star! Shook my hand when he brought the check! Right on! The food, divine. Unique small plates with some of the most sophisticated flavors. It’s hard to say what we liked the most, it was all absolutely delish and locally sourced. I applaud the Cribb brothers with a huge win for Spartanburg’s growing food scene, they absolutely nailed it! Cheers!

The Kennedy opens this Wednesday (tomorrow)! Love all the new choices in town!

my 2 cents. I LOVE the fact that this is proposed, I like the preliminary design and like the green space/court yard. I agree that the drive through parking is a bit much and I'd much rather see that space filled with building or common outdoor space, but I do understand the desire for having their own parking. I will say this, this plan, flawed or not is a heck of a lot better than a parking lot and that building that Smith's is in now.

Rumor has it that Golden Chick (a fast food chicken joint) is building a location near the East Side Lowes, right next to the soon to be IHOP. Can anyone confirm? They are certainly building something there, they've torn up the parking lot and have dropped in a construction trailer.

It's absolutely awesome to see these historical renovations taking place!!! There is so little left so it's heartwarming to see preservation and rehabilitation! I'm curious to see what happens to the old Montgomery Ward and Kress buildings, hopefully someone gets their hands on those two as well and brings them back to glory!

Checked out Level 10 last night. It's an awesome place, everything from the decor, to the service, to the food. I highly recommend it!

Anyone know what's going on E.Main across from Heywood? Saw a development sign and some site work going on (this is where they tore down that house several months ago that burned).

Never been to Delaneys. Not really a pub / sports bar kind of guy, but if they put outdoor seating, they may win me over! At the very least, we'll try it.

That's a damn shame.

That's exciting! That is a huge building with so much potential! I hope that they do it justice as was done with Drayton Mill!
