  1. I actually like her idea. The target group are older ppl, something the area is saturated with. The city strives to attract other industries and perhaps it is not a bad idea to work with what we already have, which are older ppl. According to the the statistics the USA is only getting older and not younger. These potential clients need a lot of services. Why not set up a place in a one stop shop environment. A place where u can set up assisted living, nursing home, hospice, medical services, etc. So many services that a very large building will be needed, by the way isn’t Orlando begging for a true skyscraper? I want her to succeed but obviously I’m ignorant to the politics and marketing needed to launch such a complicated endeavor.
  2. Yep, very familiar. He did his part and we as Orlandoans are grateful. He did his part, was effective for the time when Orlando needed him. Time for fresh ideas.

  4. I like Buddy Dyer!!!He helped Orlando grow, however it is time to pass the baton forward. A new leader for the next phase of the city is needed. We need fresh thinking and a progressive vision.
  5. I don’t think ( correct me if I’m wrong) that a line alone from Miami to Jacksonville would be profitable. Jacksonville is not a destination.
  6. A Cocoa beach stop makes sense, in part because of KSC but more then anything for Port Canaveral. The potential tourists from the cruise ships can now make day trips to Disney, Universal studios, the attractions on international drive, etc... Brightline would provide the transportation in a seamless way. Brightline can potentially make many more deals with other players.
  7. From what I’ve been reading apparently the station at Disney Springs will be a 2 floor station with the lobby on the ground floor and the tracks on the 2nd floor. Sooo i guess elevated...
  8. It's going to require some sharp turns in that area. Sadly, thismeans that any express train not stopping at Disney will have to slow down significantly, Unless they build elevated tracks...
  9. For all parties involved Disney Springs seems like the most logical place. Disney controls visitors at one centralized location and transit can officially claim a station at Disney.
  10. Here’s a crazy idea!! If anyone has noticed, Morse ave starts or ends at the Winter Park scenic boat tour and ends at Lake Killarney. Along the way it divides Central Park, continues on to Martin Luther Park and now potentially end at another park at Lake Killarney. Wouldn’t it be something if there was a París like promenade ( elevated park ) connecting one end to another. Kind of like NYCs high point and Phillys Railpark. The elevated park would add greenery and gardens from one end to the other end.

  13. That’s why I said it’s only a matter of time. Once a funding source is identified and the connection to MCO comes to fruition, residents will demand the OBX line.
  14. Perhaps it can be used for light rail. Obviously they’ll have to tear up the tracks.
  15. That may be the case now! I am aware of the report. Expect change especially when a funding source is identified and especially if Sunrail connects to MCO.

  17. Some of us actually suggested this very idea earlier in this forum. Nice to see that politicians are actually doing their job. Makes to much sense to just allow Sunrail to use the Brightline Corridor and allow Brightline to use the Sunrail corridor. What remains unclear to me is the light rail idea.
  18. I think they should combine the Orlando Highway authority into Sunrail and Lynx as well. I’m not sure about the politics behind it but combining all 3 agencies into one comprehensive agency can open up more possibilities.
  19. It doesn’t blend, but it could be the start for things to come. Remember the city is working on buying the post office, and Rollins bought the adjacent parking lot next to the library. There are also rumors that city hall is relocating. We shall see.
  20. Spoke to the director and he was just gushing with enthusiasm over the new building being built.
  21. The Edith Bush Charitable foundation building at 199 E Welbourne is well on its way of being demolished.
  22. According to a colleague of mine about 3 Private properties directly behind that strip mall has been sold. One of which is an outdated and decrepit white apt building. Probably a part of this development.

  24. I hope they leave room for the expansion of Sunrail.
