  1. Understanding the problem is a step in the right direction. I don’t know the current leadership of LYNX so I can’t comment, however I do remember old leadership like John Lewis who now leads CATS successfully. I recall thinking when the current leadership took over that leadership is probably going to be kept weak until a more viable solution is determined. Sounds like that is the case. From my point of view an organization that can stretch its limited resources on a shoestring budget and transport Orlando and it’s visitors deserves an opportunity. If leadership is the issue then perhaps merging all 3 agencies and bringing back Ms Liquori ,who is now in Tallahassee , to lead is an option. She led CFX and Sunrail successfully and is currently in FDOT.
  2. I don’t agree, but to each his own… ideally LYNX and Sunrail should merge with CFX. Lynx seems incompetent because of the lack of funding that hampers its operations. They have asked for a larger budget for decades. CFX last I read was a profitable agency for GREATER Orlando albeit tainted with corruption. We shall see what is decided in the near future.
  3. For sure a line on the 417 would run on the periphery. On another note OBJ reports that the Central Florida expressway authority is favored along with LYNX to operate Sunrail. That is great news!!
  4. I know that this is wishful thinking but that could happen if a line was built on the 417. With the southernmost stop at St Cloud, Narcoossee, Lake Nona, MCO, Avalon Park, UCF, Oviedo, Winter Springs and the most northern stop Orlando Sanford International airport. A combination of existing CFX track, brightline track and new line would be needed.
  5. I hope it turns out to be true. The next question to be answered is if Sunrail will be allowed to operate that route as a separate line.
  6. Besides a line to the attraction areas, an expansion that connects UCF with Downtown and the airport make more sense. All other expansions are necessary but not priority.
  7. Why can’t Lake Eola or DTO have art and sculptures like that.
  8. I wonder where they are in the talks. What are the hiccups or the delay?
  9. Your sense of reality is warped dude!!! Go north and you’ll encounter more then one transportation system that provides service on tax payer funds. Who runs those governments??? Go to Europe and they go even further, where transportation is free throughout the country. Who runs those governments?? It’s only here in la Flórida where there are serious issues with transportation. In Florida the highways are given priority instead of an organized comprehensive public transport. Who runs the Florida government??? Now in the case of Orlando u can mostly blame the worthless governor DE santis and worthless Governor Scott who interfere in county, airport, and highway commissions to stymie TRANSPORTATION initiatives. Placing their henchman to Vote against funding, And in more then one occasion trying to force out Dyer and Demings out of constitutional mandates out of commissions and boards. But u probably didn’t know that. How about the time when Scott tried to kill Sunrail or when he killed high speed rail paid for by the Federal government… Henchmen mismanage the government and do not appropriate enough funding to run a system correctly. Then they come back and say “ You see the government sucks, u should have let a for profit agency run that particular service” it’s the oldest ploy. Dude either your blind, ignorant or have a warped sense of reality.
  10. I agree it needs to be free!!The near future transit system should instead focus on selling every available space for advertising, charging school districts and universities for student travel, and leasing commercial space to businesses. It can also make money by merging with the central Florida highway authority and lobbying for tourism revenue for lines and stations that cater to tourism activity. Some ideas, who knows if they are politically feasible.
  11. Like I said earlier, Orange County and Orlando will have to put skin in the game to influence Brightline. I think it’s worth the investment because the solution kills 3 birds with one stone. 1. connection to MCO 2. connection to international drive 3. connection to Disney with additional benefits of a southwest line that could only assume other stops. Perhaps a starting deposit of money from Hotel revenues to get started and a 2nd infusion of money from the transportation tax that is yet to be passed.
  12. Biggest issue is having a dock to welcome the 18 wheeler trucks. In the past they’ve considered the old telephone company property directly across the street from the Scientology church.
  13. I’ve spoken to this guy and he is a total P&@“k. Not nice at all and doesn’t treat his employees with respect. His wife moved to Baldwin Park about a year ago, don’t know if they divorced but his condominium is 2 1/2 blocks away from LUMA.
  14. Money talks!!! This leg is extremely important and we must get it right. Stops at MCO, OCCC, and Disney are in play, the heart of Orlando’s economy. We may need to put up some money.
  15. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was orchestrated to pressure Brightline to build along international drive. The preferred route of most Orlando Urban planet aficionados. In my mind at least it should be built along the 528 and international drive, but it seems like our leaders may need to put up some more skin the game(money) in construction costs to have leverage.
  16. I’ll consider Lake Nona great when SUNRAIL opens an official train station at the town center.
  17. Unfortunately I’m working and I don’t have the time to document in length for you the sources. But since u do have the time I’ll just make the suggestion. I’ve been following Sunrail since it’s birth and believe it hasn’t been Leftists that have tried to kill it. Paula Dockery, and Rick Scott are names that come to mind. Ok lunch is over back to work!!
  18. That comment makes NO SENSE! I suggest u do more reading. Do u have any idea how many times conservative state governments have tried to torpedo SUNRAIL.
  19. We should know by September the future of Sunrails EAST-WEST line and most importantly the connection to MCO.
  20. I’m sure transportation will be provided to that area once a comprehensive mass transit system is funded and organized.
  21. Hence a train station in UCF would be wildly popular. The ridership numbers would certainly increase.
  22. Then surely it’s a line that OUC May be looking to sell or at least rent. It’s very valuable!! Driving through Lake Nona the other day I was able to see for myself how close it is from Amazon and Medical City. It’s almost to good to be true. Amazon plans to expand and Disney “may “ be moving some of its corporate offices to the Lake Nona town center which is directly across the street from the Medical City. The planets are aligning....
  23. These tracks lead directly to the Stanton Energy power Plant and they guide OUC coal laden trains. OUC have already leased part of the tracks to BRIGHTLINE. Thus I’m certain they will be just as receptive in allowing SUNRAIL use the tracks in an eventual expansion.
  24. Fingers crossed that the referendum passes. What are the other counties proposing to help fund transportation?? Like I said Osceola failed on their referendum any chance they may reintroduce another?
  25. A tax referendum in 2022 is risky.. Tax referendums are more inclined to pass during presidential elections. Osceola presented a tax referendum during a midterm election and it failed.
