  1. "In an SEC filing, Disney said it would be accelerating investment in Disney Parks, Experiences and Products over a 10-year period to about $60B, nearly double that in the previous 10-year period." https://seekingalpha.com/news/4013164-disney-slips-after-move-to-double-parks-investments-to-60b
  2. Roaming Railfan put out a promo video with the September 22 official opening date. He works directly with Brightline/FEC to make his videos and has access to info the public doesn't. I would say it is a GO!!!
  3. Yes, that news came out last year with the updated ARB and renderings. It was originally supposed to have a museum as well, but I think that fell through. (started as a Radisson, I think, so JW Marriott with convention center would be awesome). Thread for this project is here:
  4. They are oak trees. Planted in every planter from Washington to Pine.
  5. That, good sir, is a tiny coniferous tree.
  6. Not sure they are oak trees. I didn't get up close enough to see, just saw them being planted from down the street. They are tiny deciduous trees.
  7. It is between Washington and Church. The ones already planted are between Pine and Central. They cut out all of the rest and I am sure will be planting new ones in everything they cut out.
  8. Today they are taking the time that Orange Avenue is closed to update all the trees/planters along Orange. Took out all of the old trees and grates and are planting new (TINY) oak trees back in all of them on both sides.
  9. This actually wasn't the painting job. I mistook it for that. It was facade and reno of the adjacent building where they previously proposed punching out openings in the facade for residential conversion. I believe it changed from residential, but is not the 200 SOA (tallest building) painting. The painters are hanging from window-washing type man-lifts, not scaffolding.
  10. There will also be loss of revenue/business interruption for everything closed on the street temporarily.
  11. The property manager and construction manager sent out an email today that they have equipment on site today to begin staging and dismantling on Thursday. They said expect "at least a week" from Thursday.
  12. More high speed testing. This time on the FEC corridor in Brevard County.
  13. It would have been so much better with an activated ground floor and street wall and outdoor cafe/gathering space overlooking the park/lake.
  14. Part of the reason for the Rocks is "function" actually. They don't want shade trees and park benches because that would become a bunk for unsheltered. Thus no shade and round rocks that are not easy to lay on. You will notice a lot of the park benches have a center "arm rest separator" in the middle of them in parks. There is a functional reason for that.
  15. "Turnkey" or "Turkey"?
  16. Not sure what you mean by heat-related. You can see in the top photo that JRS posted the scaffolding is bowing out away from the building in the center above where the angled lateral bracing ended.
  17. They just shut down the painting of 200 SOA and Orange Avenue downtown because the scaffolding for the project was unsafe and buckling. Yikes!
  18. Looks better than I expected, but like you, I would rather have one big oak tree in the middle than a bunch of palms scattered around the edge. Although they might be afraid that too much shade might encourage more camping out there.
  19. There was a construction fence up, equipment, and a port-a-potty on site at the former 7-11 location today. Not sure what they are planning, but assume they are making some sitework improvements to the new "pocket park" instead of it just staying as an empty lot.
  20. The upper decks are the old-school bench style bleachers, not seats. Often NFL and college standiums have gotten red of the bench seats and replaced them with chair-backs/fold down while upgrading, along with slightly reducing capacity but giving a better fan experience. They kept the upper decks back when they rebuilt the stadium in 2014.

    Mills/50

Just drove by the Mills/50 Colonial intersection and they are FINALLY installing mast arm signals. The foundation/base is in with the bolts in place, but no masts yet. Expect to see mast arms shortly to remove the ugly wired signals that have been there forever.
  22. LOL. It looks like a value-engineered Clearwater Beach hotel.
