  1. As I stated previously, the limitation for Cocoa to OIA is the locomotive.
  2. Stuart, FL Median Income: $30,771 Fort Pierce, FL Median Income: $21,360
  3. Studies now will be entirely different, given that there is now existing service from MCO to points south with HSR. Funding comes in chunks/allocations with studies and proposals needed each time to qualify and bid for them.
  4. No, there are not plans finished, so not defined as phases. I am saying they should phase it, given that the ROW and OUC tracks already exist for that to happen. Run that connection first to get BL to MCO, with a larger transfer station (they call Sunshine Station) in the first phase. That will get the project underway and revenue started first, to then develop the connection for the rest of the ROW to get to the Convention Center. It is by far the most ready and least complicated part of the project as well as the most critical connection. It only makes sense to phase it and start with that first. However, that has not been planned yet. It will take a full study and review in order to apply for funding, and then the design, phasing, schedule, and bidding/cost will occur. If they are smart, they will do the overall master-plan study and also a broken out first phase plan for that connector to apply for incremental funding, IMO. I just think they are early on in the "Study" phase and not to the point of presenting phased plans for grants/budget funding. @codypet might be able to explain more about this process from a large project/civil background.
  5. I agree, of course. Which is why I said start with that first as a phased portion. However, a lot of the project is contingent upon funding, and the studies/plans need to be done ahead of time to submit for that potential funding.
  6. Here is the public meeting/presentation held for the TCAR. They are now wrapping up the TCAR this month to provide a report of the study and findings. This is critical for the planning and submitting for funding from the FTA, FRA, USDOT, and other sources.
  7. Brightline's focus is BL West - Rancho Cucamonga to Vegas. They are targeting fast-track of this project to complete in time for the Olympics in 2028. The Sunshine Corridor is still in "Review" phase, not yet planning and design phase. They released a TCAR (Transit Concept and Alternate Review) study in order to review the concepts and submit for funding, including FTA and federal grants. https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/4020c1c20b9b4ab98a6acc6cc4a072cd My understanding is that they can do "portions" of this over time. With there being some benefit to start with the ROW and connection to the existing SunRail first. They are planning connector lines from SunRail to the Airport as the initial step. This will increase the viability of both SunRail and the existing BL service to Miami, by providing connectivity to DT Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Park, and all other commuter cities on the existing lines. After that, the difficult part of connecting further west to the CC/I-drive and I-4 corridors will happen. Universal pushed for connection to CC/I-drive and said they will donate all the land needed for a station there.
  8. The developers should have been jailed for that.

Maybe the lightshow will deter people from moving in.

    Mills/50

Some signals won't pick up the bike in the loops and therefore won't call the signal. Mills/Lake Highland comes to mind. Yes. Exactly. The signals at that intersection have an embedded loop that notifies the light to switch. (at least in my past experience there). Ferncreek and Summerlin across 50 are two that I have had malfunction. A couple of others along Mills and Bumby crossing E-W. Crossing Maguire near the old mall.

    Mills/50

"people on bikes jumping on the sidewalk to cross the intersection for some reason" They do this because the signals don't work right and you have to hit the crosswalk button in order to trigger it.
  12. Orlando City has spoken to the city about improving the area immediately around the stadium and protecting the "game day" experience. Jared Dillon is the main guy as President of Business Operations. He worked with the city to purchase the land directly to the east of the stadium and the church property that they demo'd. Orlando City now has an agreement to block off the streets and that whole block to have a "Game Day Experience" area and tailgating. Both Church and Central are fenced off/closed to traffic on game days. The team also has mentioned perhaps developing part of those lots as mixed-use in the future, but have never set forth any formal plans (other than just purchasing and clearing the lots).
  13. I find it comical that you are comparing two entirely different markets/geographical areas when you could compare to EVERY SINGLE OTHER PROPOSAL IN DT ORLANDO OTHER THAN SOCIETY ORLANDO that was delayed the past 3 years.
  14. I also heard a Lynx/Bus main station to connect with Intermodal/APM for the whole facility. Any smoke on that @CFL Rez?
  15. Agreed, and then they made it even worse with the Connector that put giant elevated interchanges directly across a historic district, further exacerbating the problem.
  16. They are building an entirely new garage/CONRAC for Terminal C/Intermodal.
  17. Yeah, that is IF they go to Tampa Union. I have seen other potential locations including in Ybor itself and just using the TECO street car to connect to Channelside and DT, and another one north of I-4, which didn't make much sense connectivity-wise). Quite frankly, I don't think Tampa Union location is a good choice, as it is not an ideal location and the developable area adjacent was limited by the construction of the Selmon Expressway years ago. It also would not connect to the Streetcar there.
  18. His point was "New". The existing FEC corridor they own is not new, so grandfathered in (as well as CSX for sunshine and probably some lines they are looking at in Tampa - tons of existing rail lines connect to Tampa west of US 41 due to there being the port right next to Tampa DT).
  19. Drove by Milk Stacks this week and it was pretty far along and 3 stories tall now. It is also wood framing so it went up quickly. I did not see what looks like the Milk Stack tanks done yet. Don't know how they are going to construct that part to make it look real.
  20. Yes, we brought it up in the Zoi House thread last week. Nobody has any news on what it means though or on new developments/activity.
  21. Yeah, in Brevard, they have the Retirees, the Engineers, and the "Brevard *abbreviated word that has been cancelled but rhymes with Brevard*'s". Pretty sure we know which group these fall into.
  22. OK, I would believe your actual results over what I thought was the case. Thanks for verification.
  23. I do not know what it means. Could be a code issue or could be trying to sell the project or could be trying to dress up the lot to submit for financing or could be. . ..
  24. (I thought it was a shrimp at first, then when it got closer I saw the claws, lol)
  25. I believe the top speeds in that area are like 76-78 MPH.
