  1. While that is super cool, it is not NC, and removing 277 would not result in a gorgeous waterside park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Remove 277? It’s not going to happen. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is an urban sausage fight. There’s lots of people…who cares, really? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Carolina Blue Sox Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. What it does is gives fuel to the anti-transit types, validating a refusal to back future expenditures. Call me cynical, but it’s sure convenient to wax poetic about a system that has gotten off to such a poor start. [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. As an OG- and still!- PSL owner, despite living in Maryland for the past 20 years, I sincerely hope Tepper keeps the team in or immediately outside of 277. I realize it’s only 10 games or so a year, and a handful of other events, but that stadium is a big part of the excitement we all have for uptown and south end and of the city in general. I can’t imagine game days in SC. Just can’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Green rooftop parks- the convention center could be a massive one. It’ll never happen, but it’d be super unique if different rooftops were linked via open air skywalks. Think NYC’s Highline…similar but different [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Can the city not offer incentives to reduce parking? They’re shooting themselves (CATS) in the foot with all those parking spots at light rail stops. Oh, and I agree 100%…it looks massively out of scale and unfinished. Blah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My old exit is growing up 🥲 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. With all due respect, please keep your political opinions to yourself…at least in this forum. Thank you![emoji1308] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Makes one wonder if CATS consulted with engineers from European or Asian countries, where things are done so efficiently. If they want to fix their problems they’d be well served to talk to people in places where the systems work as they should. [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. View from Baltimore- the light rail here is woefully underutilized and rightfully vilified for this very reason- it takes FOREVER to get anywhere on it. It rolls slowly and has too many stops to make it an efficient method of transportation, at least for commuters. Drivers hate it because it blocks intersections…those 2 factors alone means those drivers will never even consider using it. If you’re on a leisurely day trip, sure, but in a day-to-day life that’s go-go-go it’s just not a great choice. I want to like it, but my car is a WAY faster way to get around and goes all the places light rail doesn’t. [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The more I see that low-slung box amidst the tall, glass “trees”, the more I think that roof needs a park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I remember Slugs, but I have no idea what a white party is. [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Would be neat to have an elevated rooftop park on top of this thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You should absolutely tweet this @them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. They won't fail, but they will absolutely lose market share as competitors move in. That Audi e-tron GT is a sexy beast I would prefer over any current Tesla model! They just announced they will no longer develop ICEs (a shame, really, for fans of their motors like me). VW Group (VW/Audi/Porsche/Lamborghini/etc.), in general, will take a big chunk of Tesla's market, and every other major manufacturer has an EV roadmap that will take more. That said, the EV market is a baby now, and growth will be huge for all players. Tesla is well positioned for the near term- we'll see how they play it going forward. I kinda see them as the Microsoft of the EV market...innovators that are here for the long haul, but with some stiff competition both up and down market...
  18. Anyone know of any plans along the couple of blocks north of the park up to Trade? That stretch should include majority residential, hotel and retail, with a smattering of office IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I feel like this stretch has super potential...those parking decks are prime real estate
  20. I just pointed out the obvious- it wasn’t necessary. And it was a joke, and I got it...you apparently didn’t. I don’t come on this forum for angst. There’s enough of that in the ether already. Peace and love, peace and love!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Still think the top needs something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. With the rollout of the vaccine this year, I would think stalled projects will pick up steam precipitously. And if luxury hoteliers (uptown) are savvy they will get on it quickly- I think there is pent-up demand for leisure travel...hoping they are planning accordingly.
  23. I think it looks pretty cool, but there's too much white...I wouldn't necessarily want to see more yellow, but some splotches of another color (brown or black, maybe) would accentuate the asymmetry. I also think it would have looked better on the midrise portion if there was some variation in height. And the hotel. Sigh...oh well...
