  3. Yes. Instead of discussing the 80% great news, we're complaining about the 20% bad news. Mind you, this is merely my opinion, feel free to respectfully disagree.

  8. @bwithers1 Thanks so much for this info Mr. Withers. Separate question please sir: can you tell us what's on the docket for the Workshop Meeting Wed 7/27 for STRP regulations? We're specifically concerned with changes to DADU allowances...we broke ground on an Airbnb DADU on Fatherland after happily reading about the ordinance being adjusted to allow for these. I will be out of town for work or would absolutely plan on attending and discussing. Thank you sir.
  9. Mr. Withers, thanks for all of your updates. Are there any updates on "The Fatherland" the adaptive reuse of the old church at 17th & Fatherland, light work had begun but has stalled for quite a while. Was to be a B&B/restaurant/event space from what I recall. Thanks.
  10. Has anyone heard anything about the Fatherland Inn and Grill @ 1700 Fatherland St? I haven't seen any activity there for months and months. TheFatherland.com is no longer valid. Is this plan no longer being pursued? John Donelson was the original permit holder.

  18. Sorry, Short Term Rental Permit, basically an Airbnb permit DADU - Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit, basically a detached garage with living space / loft above
  19. What is everyone's opinion regarding the upcoming change to the STRP permits, short-term rental. It is about DADU's and would require owners to attempt to get a non-owner-occupied permit, which are basically all spoken for, and would have a serious impact on some people such as myself who hope to build a garage next year and move our Airbnb there. My proposal would be to grandfather those who already have a strp permit and allow a dadu to be covered under that permit. It would not impact/allow additional guests, additional cars parked on streets, actually would be less cars streetside as guests would be able to park in Dadu. Brett are you there sir?

  21. It might've been my comment to the EN FB page that has the negative comments on the 'East Sider'. Somehow it became vogue to hate development on that page, it could be the best development in the world, the right business in the right place, and it would receive the cold shoulder. Somehow developers have been vilified, but admittedly we have lost some older homes that probably could have been saved instead of demo'd.
  22. I know the old Mrs. winners building on gallatin by eastland has been vacant for eons, but I believe a brand new sign has been placed in front of it, could this finally be the first step into getting this property developed?
