  1. Running photo tours of each of the SunRail stations over the next couple of days. Here's the one for Florida Hospital.
  2. If anyone has the time...there is an agreement between the City of Orlando and FDOT on the I4 project. It spells out exactly what is happening at each over pass. It's unfortunately done through legal descriptions and not pictures and takes a bit to understand. If something was changing on Garland I would imagine it would be in there.
  3. Forgot to post on here... Orlando Health to Add Pedestrian Bridge Over Orange Ave There's a good discussion in the comments about should a private company be able to just build a pedestrian bridge over a state road.
  4. Dick's sporting goods to Fashion Square now official. Anyone know what the restaurant will be?
  5. Posted this morning on the new building proposed in the South Eola part of the Thornton Park District. The renderings have gone through revisions since they were submitted to the city so we'll see what they look like on final ARB.
  6. May still be there in the evening...It def looks odd to have a middle stripe and parking in one of the lanes....double checking
  7. Yes...I think there are def property owners who try to get higher than what they should and therefore it sits empty. But that happens in all of the commercial areas.
  8. Thornton park has very few spaces available...so not sure that the rent is too high. There aren't any current commercial listings that I am aware of for Thornton Park Central. Hue is a change in concept and ULM will do something else (no word what) with the ReThink space. The rents in places like Ivanhoe and College Park can get pretty high too. Milk District has potential but the businesses there just haven't been able to get together for form a non-profit to apply to be a Main Street. I think they are getting close but it just hasn't happened yet.
  9. And it's almost gone...not Mama b's the office building. http://bungalower.com/2014/01/demolition-begins-new-downtown-hotel/
  10. The lot to the south is pretty small. I can't imagine anyone building a large project there other than to front on Colonial east to the 7-eleven. I don't think that would make this building look odd. It will be about the same height as the office building to the north.
  11. The Sevens is finally moving along. ARB meeting today and groundbreaking in Spring. Renderings have been updated.
  12. I was told they made some changes but that it's mostly accurate. Here's the full story on Bungalower.
  13. I sat through a presentation by Macy's CEO in New York where he used Florida Mall & Millenia Mall as examples of why they allow for local market customization. He pointed out how at first glance you would close one of the stores because they are too close to each other. But after they customized each store to the clientele, both stores are among the top performing stores in the country. Also regarding the Macy's Home Furnishings I believe those are usually not in Malls...but not 100% sure.
  14. Bob Carr to be Reused in Creative Village Project
  15. All eight of the See Art Orlando pieces are now up. Heres the last one with links to the other seven. Which one is your favorite?
  16. The article should haven been headlined "Ten projects Dyer talked about a month ago". Not sure why they waited so long to run this and then make it sound like they came up with the list. But what can you do
  17. Historic Ivanhoe Building loses it's name to DPAC...and no one wants to take responsibility for the name being removed.
  18. Finally some renderings of the Magic Entertainment Complex. I've included them in a story on Bungalower on the Magic Complex.
  19. Stopped in yesterday and posted some photos and menu. Looks good to me! Nothing yet on the Ace space. They had to move because they needed larger space.
  20. I don't know that there was a specific "bite" as much as the understanding of potential. I would expect that once we hear the plan for either or both of the spaces those of us on this forum will be happy (well most...if anyone can every make everyone here happy, something is wrong ) Also I'm still not 100% clear on the exact timeline of what happened with Urban ReThink but keep in mind that there was a month between the time we were told publicly about ReThink closing and the closing (That's actually not a quick departure in the world of retail). We also don't know how much longer URT had to determine what to do.
  21. I was out yesterday and saw the same thing. I think the plan was/is to have it done by the event for the others. Photos of it posted now...I was just trying to spread it out so the Bungalower doesn't turn into the See Art Orlando blog
  22. Yeah they were grinding away today getting the platform ready for that sculpture.
