  1. I was under the impression that it was already annexed by the City of Greenville. I suppose I'm wrong.
  2. It is, and my source was a little confused, so that part may be incorrect, though I know Sempra does not use the entire space. They will most certainly be in RiverPlace however .
  3. I'm unsure of the jobs number, but from what I hear it'll take up Certus's current location in Riverplace as well as the unfilled Bounce Space.
  4. Expect an announcement this week on a national corporation that has a manufacturing presence in Greenville to locate offices Downtown.
  5. Isn't CB2 like the daughter of Crate and Barrel? They operate under the same corporation, so he wasn't too far off. I think it'd be a great addition, as more and more apartments open up downtown there will be quite the market for their home goods.
  6. So definitely Anthropologie and Tupelo Honey and possibly Brooks Brothers, Crate and Barrel, and Barnes & Noble. With some kind of coffee shop thrown in there. Thats a heckuva rumored lineup!

    Proterra

A cool video Jay Leno did about a Proterra Bus. It sheds a lot of light on the groundbreaking technology that is being developed and built in Greenville, SC. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/Proterra-Ecoliner-Electric-Bus/1361158/
  8. Mr. Whoever You Are, This adds nothing to the discussion. If you said don't hold your breath for "x" reason then your thoughts would be respected. But you've said nothing to that extent. It seems you are only trying to stir up dust.
  9. No celebrity, just a local with a crazy amount of money.
  10. Any word when additional retailers will be announced? January?
  11. Good, at least we won't have to hear your negative shenanigans anymore. I contemplated saying this in fear of reinforcing your shortsighted opinions but as you can see I decided against it.
  12. Knox White and Nancy Whitworth do not want chains such as the Cheesecake Factory on Main Street. They are looking for a certain type of national chain or regional chain. Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers and Tupelo Honey are perfect examples of what the City wants downtown and specifically on Main Street. Expect to see more of these types of chains as the City does not want to become a Downtown Charleston or worse Gatlinburg. Tupelo Honey reminds me of a breakfast place in Chicago named Butterfield's, clean, classy, simple, and tasty. The Cheesecake Factory and other national chains of the like have more of a contrived tourist feel that is not and should not be placed downtown. So everybody upset about those types of national chains get your panties out of a wad. They won't be on Main Street and shouldn't be. Downtown will likely become a hybrid of Asheville and Charleston, leaning more towards Asheville, simply because of the desires of City leaders. A contrived place that targets tourists is not what Downtown will become. And instead it will hopefully balance local, regional, and national retailers in a way that will not detract from the established feel of Main.
  13. I like the overall look of them. Definitely not "suburban apartments masking as urban." Though I will say that roof line is a little cray.
  14. What makes it just ok? I'm impressed by a good many components, the biggest being the underground parking garage along with the development fronting the street. I can't speak for the aesthetic value of the development and maybe that is terrible. But until I see that I don't understand how these are "suburban."
  15. It might cutting edge, but its ugly. It looks like the 80's threw up and had a baby. Preformed tan concrete with a flat roof line and a completely flat facade. There is nothing exciting about the exterior of the building.
  16. I'm gonna take a guess or two. I'm 85% sure Barnes and Noble is gonna locate in one of the ground floor retail spaces. Then I'd expect a Starbucks to open on the retail space that opens on to the plaza. As to everything else I'm not sure.
  17. If you're scared of what people are saying then sheeeesh.
  18. It did just open. Give them a grace period on service.
  19. Expect a major delay on this . . .
