  1. I can't imagine demand is high enough for how many were originally proposed. And I can't see large companies buying these for their executives on business. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  2. No pics?! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  3. Is there a design flaw or are people just incapable of using a roundabout? Stop lights negate the purpose of the intersection. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  4. Depending on who you ask. Yes, it does. Which is why I question giving them tax dollars while our infrastructure crumbles. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  5. We should be enticing New Orleans and Lafayette area local restaurants to open in Baton Rouge. Local joints will be more popular and will would improve our profile of restaurants. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  6. I love how it looks. That price is incredibly steep though, hopefully it gets built. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  7. You have a point but it will still effect people outside of that direct area. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  8. Lol that's the textbook definition of gentrification. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  9. I would imagine a competent plan would invest in other, more diverse, less taxing on our environment and infrastructure, and less economically fluctuating industries than we currently give tax dollars to. We have options there.
  10. Beautifully worded post, I will have to respond later tonight after work.
  11. That's right, I always think of Esplanade Mall when I read that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  12. Esplanade? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  13. That area needs to turn into an urban neighborhood connected to mid-city through more pedestrian and bike infrastructure. A less expensive Perkins Rowe, maybe with a large park in the middle or along I-10. Seems you could add value to the property by putting storefronts directly on Corporate Blvd, adding sidewalks, shade trees, and bike lanes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  14. Imagine this, on a smaller scale, on the lot directly across from the Lincoln Hotel. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.theb1m.com/video/building-beirut-terraces-a-multi-layered-skyscraper&ved=2ahUKEwiInJCp7dndAhUSXa0KHffYAxMQFjATegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw0yUVbUCy-11jeNnZytEIfy Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  15. Let the gentrification north of Government St commence. lol
  16. That's a pretty big jump in passengers, great news.
  17. We will never solve the traffic congestion issues by building roads though, I agree we need density but we can build the infrastructure before and develop along the corridors after. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  18. You forgot to include public transit options. I'd rather see that than just about any road project. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  19. I believe all those streets should connect.
  20. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Bulletin-18-04.pdf This works for me, maybe try to copy and paste it into your address bar? Or you can do a search for "OMB Bulliten 18-04", I found a link to the link on the first page, but no direct link to get the pdf. Looks to be so. Probably has something to do with Houma and Thibodeaux being in different parishes. Also, it was always part of the CSA, which apparently ceased to exist after Assumption was added to the metro. It's really weird but there's an anomaly here with Boulder MSA and Denver MSA, they are separate metros yet only 25 miles apart from each downtown. I'd love to find the raw data to see how much travel there is between all the major corridors. I want to really see what's going on in St. James, Tangipahoa, and St. Landry parishes, even Wilkinson County would be interesting to look at.
  21. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area just added Assumption Parish. A few other things happened, Shreveport lost Webster parish but adds (or keeps) Minden micropolitan area, Monroe added Morehouse Parish but loses Bastop micropolitan area. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-conten...etin-18-04.pdf Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  22. This looks like a great plan. Although I can't believe that this will reduce congestion to less that what is present now, in 17 years. There's too many other projects that need to be completed that affect regional congestion for that to happen. Richy, that was included in these plans. Hopefully nothing changes or more improvements are added. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  23. I wish they would just understand that a grid works best than the feeder-connector-freeway style. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  24. Do you know if they used future upgrades to other roads within the region in this projection? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  25. That's really sad to hear. Like I am truly hurt. I love home but this is the kind of stuff I cannot deal with mentally. It seems like an obvious "my cousins company got the contract so push it through." I would even accept some corruption in the case of infrastructure that will improve the quality of life of everyone.
