  1. It should fit well there, too bad it didn't go downtown.
  2. Mmmm, never seemed like a good fit there. A Top Golf there?
  3. Doesn't look much like a TND to me at all.
  4. Mental health is a nationally underfunded issue so I think this is great. Hopefully less people will go to jail as a result.
  5. Flood mitigation projects don't win reelection like ALIVE might have.
  6. Absolutely, Airline needs to move and I don't see it happening with 10 lanes with stop lights at major intersections. I would really like to see the whole stretch from the 190 bridge to I-10 in St. Amant. I realize it seems like overkill but by the time Airline is widened or rebuilt, traffic will warrant it, and 10 years later people will be clamoring for another project. I also would still like to see my I-51 proposal built from Houma around the eastern side of EBR/western side of Livingston, and go on up to meet I-110. I was almost embarrassed to find out they spent 4 years rebuilding Hwy 73 to 3 lanes. I think Old Perkins Rd needs to be widened and I'm positive the wealthy folks along that road would not want that, so it might help get an exit on Bluff Rd, which would be widened to match Old Perkins Rd. Old Jefferson should get the same treatment. I agree, Ascension doesn't want to do that though. Raising taxes would be the death sentence for any elected official, and people here don't seem to mind. You don't really realize it until you go to one of the nicer suburbs in other states.
  7. That would be nice to see. I know a guy who knows a guy who would prove all that wrong. Ehh. Hopefully it looks better in real life.
  8. Right here. Airline would be "Green" through to somewhere before Gonzales. An interstate ramp should be constructed where Bluff Rd passes over I-10, Bluff Rd and Old Perkins should be one continuous road instead of prioritizing Old Perkins Rd. I would like to see Hwy 44 be connected to Livingston Parish somehow, but I don't think traffic would warrant such an expensive endeavor. I think public transit could help alot on the south side of town.
  9. I was just thinking about that today. Would be awesome if they could rebuild Istrouma, Capitol, and McKinley like they did Lee High. Would do alot for Mid-City and OSBR. I do believe that we can certainly influence weather, if not control it. I can do conspiracy theories all night. The last rendering of the downtown library we saw wasn't the final design was it? The demographics of Spanish Town are mostly older people who've lived there for decades, so that's pretty telling. Would have fit nicely though. Although The Grove is really nice, that kind of thing could have transformed a few inner-city blocks. Like what New Orleans did with South Market District. But that's just my crazy fantasy.
  10. If half of the growth that Livingston and Ascension were seeing, were concentrated in Baton Rouge, it would make a world of difference.
  11. Seattle's density, although geographically necessary, is more efficient and attractive than Dallas'.
  12. The rumor about Katrina and the levee being blown? Your description of Frisco makes me cringe lol. I really wish we could build more like Seattle. I'd hate alot of the effort being on a "The Woodlands" type of development out in Livingston or Central.
  13. I think this is totally plausible. Look at how Katrina changed New Orleans, tragedy is usually an economic boost. Except for Disney, it would make more sense for them to locate in the Texas Triangle. We're pretty close to Orlando.
  14. All negative in the comments section...mmm?
  15. Cajun, you should get that to the right big wigs at DOT. Good to see work will begin, although it needs to be extended to Hwy 22.
  16. A welcomed addition to West Parker, it will look even taller when it tops out.
  17. Sorry for such a late reply everyone. I was in Seattle and Vancover on the 13th-17th without my laptop. We thankfully did not get any water, however our next door neighbors did. We are on McCrory 1 Rd in Prairieville and close enough to Bayou Manchac apparently. It's truly a blessing that we stayed dry and got to come back from MSY at 11pm with a place to stay. I've been busy today and yesterday, as well as tomorrow helping out as many people as I can. If anyone here needs an extra set of hands, feel free to ask me. Good luck everyone and stay safe. #LouisianaStrong
  18. Isn't that what the aiport intends to do anyway? I wouldn't imagine it would pass a vote at all, people will still default to using MSY. I will be Saturday.
  19. So a parking lot will replace it?
  20. I would imagine the environmental studies would slow down construction time as always. I see them being easy sales to taxpayers though. Houston and it's feeder roads drive development; much of it is centered along freeways, if built right (albeit prohibitively expensive), it would probably work.
  21. Awesome work Cajun, all of it is brilliant. All of this would be relatively cheap from the looks of it as well. Win-win situation. I always thought N Harrels Ferry should cross the Amite River and that Juban Rd needed to be extended.
  22. I wouldn't be too surprised, especially considering it would be cheaper and faster. I would guess because of all the traffic on I-12 versus 190. I travel I-12 daily going to and from Hammond and it probably will need to be widened the whole way within a decade. I still agree though, both Airline and Florida could relieve much of the traffic on both interstates if rebuilt correctly.
  23. Well best of luck to you both. It's going to be hard without Hartsfield in your back door.
  24. Thanks. I really prefer all the mid-rise construction going on now. I would like to see an office building if it was going to be that tall. A hotel on top of the River Center garage would be perfect.
  25. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Oh wow. Tired of A-town?
