  1. Hilary was the legal counsel for the airport when she was with the Friday Law Firm. She was later the counsel for the Little Rock Airport Commission. I don't have a problem including her in the name. However, I would have just renamed it "Clinton National Airport" for both of them. The Bill & Hillary stuff is just awkard and does open up the "Billary" and "Hillbilly" nicknames. But they didn't ask me. So be it!
  2. http://www.fly-lit.com/bulletin.aspx Got this in an email yesterday. It's also on their website. Fill it out and let LIT know what you would like to see.
  3. Where exactly is this potential site for a department store at the Promenade?
  4. I think a Trader Joe's would be perfect there! Of course, it's probably too big for Trader Joes, especially when considering the upstairs area.
  5. Arkansas Department of Health website shows McDonald's plumbing permit. The location is 17601 Chenal Parkway, PD#11-1491. I guess that will be near LaGrande and Chenal?
  6. I made it out to JCrew Thursday night. You are correct. The men's department is tiny. It took about 3 minutes to see everything in the department. Quite disappointed. I was hoping this was a reason to go to the Promenade more often. Sadly, it's not. Other than the movie theater, there still doesn't seem to be a draw to me. DSW, maybe but I can do just as well at Dillards.
  7. New plumbing permit issued for Park Plaza address. Gearhead/Seattle Grind, 1034 Park Plaza Mall #1034 PD#11-1351 Seattle Grind is a coffee shop that has two locations in Jonesboro. http://www.seattlegrind.com/home Gearhead is Gearhead Outfitters which is described as "Gearhead Outfitters offers an extensive selection of quality branded outdoor gear, sportswear, and is focused on a high level of customer service. Gearhead Outfitter’s merchandise includes men and women’s apparel and outerwear from brands such as The North Face, Patagonia, Marmot, Arc’ Teryx, and more. They also offer running and hiking footwear for the entire family by Merrell, Chaco, Keen, Mizuno, The North Face, Asics, and many more." http://gearheadoutfitters.com/ Gearhead is also out of Jonesboro which makes sense. Park Plaza website lists the location for Gearhead as "Food Court, 1034" I think this is the old Forbidden China (or whatever it's name was) location.
  8. I planned on going out there last night but didn't get around to it. I hope to make it out there tonight. I'm disappointed already based on your description of the size of the store and, particularly, the men's department. Men's departments are almost always less than half the size of the women's departments, though.
  9. Vision's website doesn't list Little Rock as an origin city or a destination city.
  10. Vision Airlines is no longer serving the cities of St. Louis, Shreveport, Lafayette, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Asheville, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers and Little Rock. Vision Airlines....we hardly knew ya!
  11. Looks like Accessory City is abandoning its location in front of Sam's Club for Shackleford Crossings. http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/eng/planreview/PLUMB/79070.htm
  12. Testing. Trying an alternative way to post on this new forum since I can't any other way I've tried. Okay, this seemed to work.
  13. Is it just me or does it seem like the progress on the Ross store is taking forever? I can't imagine that the building was in such terrible shape that they had to completely gut it but maybe it was. I think they completely tore the inside down to the foundation. They also tore off the facade and have put up the skeleton of a new facade that makes the building look to be two story even though it's not. David's Burgers is now open. (I think!) I may go check it out tomorrow. A new Kroger gas station is nearly constructed on Rodney Parham, between Treasure Hills Boulevard and Reservoir Drive. I think it was the former site of a KFC or Captain Ds. Has Kroger ever built a gas station that wasn't located on the parking lot of a Kroger store? I had heard more than a year ago that Taco Bueno was going in on Shackleford near Kanis but haven't heard anything further. Anybody got any updates? Shackleford Crossings, perhaps?
  14. The "mini" supercenter comment was made with tongue in cheek. I haven't liked that store since it opened. It's just horrible. I can't wait until the old Walmart re-opens. I hope they don't do a "Hillcrest Kroger" type renovation.
  15. According to an article I read, the concept for the Riverdale Walmart is a "mini" Super Center concept. See: Shackleford Crossings Walmart for "mini" Super Center.
  16. If Redbone's is already opened in the former Flying Burrito location, I'd say their chances of opening their own Mexican Restaurant concept in the space are slim and none. What was the name of the place they reopened as? Harry & Garcia's or something like that? It was maybe open for a couple of days before met with a cease & desist order from Flying Burrito owners (I think).
  17. Felt the need to just "drive around" last night and drove through Midtowne Centre. (Hey, if we're adding an "e" to Midtown, might as well spell Center the British way, too!) Got to thinking about the old Lewis & Clark place and the question that ran through my mind was "Is that space too big for a Trader Joe's?" The center seems to be the most appropriate one in Little Rock for a Trader Joe's. Would the upstairs section be the fatal flaw in that thought? I was trying to think of what store would "fit" well within the framework of the stores presently located there. Trader Joe's was the only thing which kept coming to mind. It's definitely too big for an Aldi, Trader Joe's little cousin. I miss Aldi. Maybe Aldi could go in at Park Avenue.
  18. Here's the info about ORANGE, the new restaurant from Scott McGehee. Orange
  19. Next time I see Jim Jackson or Lisa Ferrell, I will ask them about the status of the development and see if I can get some info. I've been meaning to ask them about the development but haven't seen them in a while.
  20. I noticed this afternoon that there were workers at the site of the new "Box". The Box was located on Main Street and is moving to its new location at 7th Street at Ringo. I wonder if 7th Street could become a new entertainment district. There's already Vino's, Weekend Theater, and now the Box is opening soon. There seems to be quite a few empty buildings along 7th Street that could be renovated to provide locations for restaurants or music venues. And there is quite a few more parking spaces in the area than at the Rivermarket. Just a thought. 7th Street Tattoo has moved to its new location, site of a former beauty school/college. Looks like a much larger location.
  21. This is true. Dillard's may call the Park Plaza store it's "flagship" store but it is pitiful when compared to the stores at North Park in Dallas and other "high-end" shopping areas. Dillards in other locales are much more nicer in appearance than the Park Plaza store and the selection of clothing is much more varied. It's always amazed me that a supposed "flagship" store doesn't even carry some of the clothing that its other stores do. For a long time, the Park Plaza Dillards reminded me of an outlet store as there were just as many "30-40-50% off" racks as there were "new" items.
  22. Ross Dress for Less has applied for a plumbing permit for a location at 9101 West Markham, Suite 12. That would be in the same shopping center as Burlington Coat Factory. I drive by there every day but I haven't noticed an empty location for Ross. I'll drive by again this evening and take another look. Just checked online. PC Hardware's address is Suite 12. I didn't realize PC Hardware had gone out of business. I'll update again this evening. This would be Ross' first store in Arkansas.
