No. This was some scam for the City to give them building rights after they abandoned some Mixed use development project in California. And sunrise development can not build anywhere in the United States. They wanted to build here.. This project Is not going to happen. It needs to be taken off urbanplanet.org site.

Notice that you dont see the 15 story Tower Planned in Phase IV> Aloft Hotel/Apartments. That project was pushed in with the Gateway Bank Project. and The Urban Market Tower. Far Left building Is being pushed as well For Phase IV.. Which Is going to be going infront of the Planning Commission on March 11th As the other guy said.. See how quick they design a building and Push it with other phases.. amazing

I Just found out information on the Circuit City Lot. They are going to turn the property into a Mass Transit Station once Lightrail is constructed. The lightrail is going to go from The oceanfront to Town Center.. And you will have to transfer to the Norfolk lightrail train which will also stop at the Town Center Location(Circuit City Lot) With a pedestrian Bridge from Dicks connecting with the Transit Station..This will allow the train to drop people off wanting to go to town center or the oceanfront. The lightrail train From Town Center to the Oceanfront during the summer will be larger for a bigger capacity for the Tourists and Locals..

From what I recall. The tide trains looked the same from 10yrs ago..lol.. same technology. hence the name Tide

The City is soo backwards.. The land would have been soo much cheaper..the norfolk southern Right away.. IfThey should have acquired the Norfolk Southern Line back in 1998..The lightrail would have been built in 2001..with the completion of phase I of town center and other phases would have followed like now..Phase 2, 3, and now 4.. But lightrail would have already existed..Pumping millions of dollars from Riders on the Tide from 2001-2009...Because.Norfolk would have Voted yes at the time va beach would have vote yes..and The region wouldnt be soo far back in time.. without mass transit. by now.. The Lightrail would have been expanded to williamsburg/buschgardens, Norfolk International airport, NOB, Damneck, Greenbrier, Suffolk Harborview Town Center, Hampton...We would have been ahead of the game... and there would have been a major boom in development all over the hampton roads area....

I don't understand why the city can not aquire the Norfolk southern right away and continue using standard passenger trains. That would save the city millions and it would bring alil history back to the norfolk southern railline.. History does repeat it self. Having a passenger train run from the Norfolk's current Lighrail system to Town Center, Rosemont, lynnhaven, the city wouldnt have to put out soo much. Just throw a standard passenger train and that fixes the money issues for the time being. The train can be named Beach Express.. And it fits.. its running from the beach to Town center to Newtown.. Lightrail doesnt seem all that mass to me or anyone.. If you wanna invest money in Mass transit.. It needs to be worth wild.. Mass transit is a fast network of transportation.. Lightrail is a light transportation system.. Standard Trains are Mass Transit.. Look at the Fredericksburg Train that runs from Fredericksburg to washington dc..I dont recall the name. Once the Beach Express train becomes functional and start making money. they could put the money aside for future lightrail options which could pay for the system without taxpayer dollars. Once the city feels like its time to extend lightrail to the beach. While the Beach Express is still active.. the lighrail could start being built across the city.. Princess Anne court house district, Sentara PA campus, TCC/Colleges campuses, The new project on PA/Indepedence .Renassicace Park. Another Mixed use development. Kempsville district.. the city could continue using Beach Express until its satisfied with the transportation network it has paid for. Or they cuold stop the system and create a new modern transportation system. Monorail or extend lightrail like they wanted. it would be smart to keep the current rail line and use standard passenger trains to make money from the current system. Tak advantage of the opporunity.

Sounds great and all.. They should extend the lighrail to NOB, Oceana, Norfolk International airport, lure the tourist to the Oceanfront.. maybe a stop at town center for a bite to eat before checking into their hotel at the oceanfront... Traffic is hectic on 264 and 64. in the morning commutes.... And for NOB, Oceana and the other bases. I think that would be the most useful for them all... Bring down the congestion.. Maybe build a commuter lot. so people can park their cars and take the lightrail to work.. less of a commute and less traffic on the highways. Virginia Beach needs to get on track fast.. The future is here.. Its time.... Mass transit is a need in Virginia Beach... Connecting two Big cities or maybe all 7 cities will boom the economy.. Oceanfront to Busch Gardens?... that would really be amazing.. As I said before.. The tourist would not have to rent cars. They can ride the Tide from the airport to the Oceanfront....

Where at hilltop. Hilltop is a large area?... Is it near Blockbuster? North Carolina Company? or Near Borders Books?

Virginia Beach needs to get on the Ball.. Gas Prices are getting worse and worse.. We really need this Lightrail system to run from Downtown Norfolk to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.. It needs to be done at the same time Norfolk Lighrail is finished...They need to concenrate more on this important matter.. It will help the economy boost back up for this area.. Less traffic because of gas prices. People will have a alernative source of transportation which means they can save money to get on a electric train to go to and from work.. Virginia Beach, Please approve this lighrail project.. It will be well worth it.. Help it stimulate our economy. The Federal Goverment is..

What is going on. Now its a boutique hotel?... On Block 9. It sounds pretty stupid. Im sure people are tired of seeing more hotels. They need to build something everyone wants to see with a wow reaction. Something people can do and will Enjoy.. IMAX Cinema on Block 9? So you can feel like your in the movie when u go with the seats rumbling or something.. Enough hotels for christ sakes.. Build something the locals and visitors would enjoy doing when they come to Town Center... Something Hampton Roads has never thought about doing and smack it right in the middle of Town Center on block 9 so you can draw others from the 6 other cities and surrounding counties..

They are in the process of demolishing the site and selling it over to Virginia Beach Economic Authority for development for town center area..

Dick sporting goods needs a tower or something above it.. It looks really out of place.. and I agree. The regal Planet music Barnes & noble shopping center needs to be bought out or something and Build over there... Another mixed use development.. It would look great.. Im disappointed that there is nothing on block 9 in the picture below.. just another green park..What is those buildings near the 64/264 Interchange?

That rendering is beauitful, the hotel with the 2 water slides.. That would be perfect for the convention hotel.. The others are too boring lookin. The Hyatt would not fit there. Its too blah.. the Double Tree looks like a upraded 70s hotel.. we need something that will be a spotlight for the City.. something stunning and will set off the city with a WOW.. Beautiful convention center and Awesome hotel.. But lets wait on the renderings from Armada hoffler.. They may give us a bigger Wow especially with the developments that have been going on at Virginia Beach Town Center.. Im sure they have made everyone go WOW with the success there.

WHat a crock.. They only mentioned The officer tower at 21 stories for Phase IV.. THere is no information on block 9 or 11.. How misleading VBBDOG is..
