  1. Dave and Busters is the Company whom Owns Jillians.. They are moving Jillians to Town Center. They said its a better suitable location. more centrally located and in the middle of it all.. Chesapeake is out the way and not really in the metro. its off to the side.. They want a location that will be close to the beach and in a urban setting.. But they also got the opp of future lightrail too.
  2. Well that is not what I hear. I know a guy who does the events for Jillians. The Company Dave & Buster realized Town Center was a better location. Most of their establishments are in town center areas. The guy who does the events said Jillians will move into town center of Virginia Beach. They think it would be a great edition for entertainment already in the famous TC. There would be a mix of entertainment for all ages. from the bars to the sandler center, funny bone comedy club, Jillans, all the new restraunts moving into town center. Trust me on this. Its gonna happen.. A event planner is not going to lie about something like this. He works with the company to sit up the events.. He said Chesapeake is too much out the way and not in a urban setting like town center..Oh and not to mention. We have free parking and plenty of it at town center. With norfolk you gotta pay for everything with limited parking.. I wouldnt be surprised if other establishments like Jillians moves into VB town center. or the new upscale theatre place like in hampton town centre.. Also, put this to mind.. With the Volume of traffic that travels on VBBLVD and Independence and with Town Center right in the middle of it. Who wouldnt move a business with high traffic volume? More Cars more Customers, more revenue.. Its a win win situation. unlike norfolk. There was not much traffic volume in waterside.. Jillians sees this as a large oppurtunity and they know they will do very well. With the Medium Income as the 3rd largest in the nation at 78k a year.. its not rocket science guys.
  3. Yeah it was Chesapeake. But they changed their mind because of demographic statistics. They think it would do better in town center.. attracting many people
  4. Looks like Jillians is renting space at town center. they are closing at waterside. They think town center is more alive and full of entertainment.. Eat, drink and play at the new town center jillians. Opens up in July!
  5. Yeah the place is Called Simply Fresh Cafe... It opens this month...
  6. Yeah I talked to the owner. He closed his franchise with Melto Gelato. He was losing money hard. And he renamed the shop. Its called Confetti Caffee and Gelato.. Completely new menu, new interior. better atmosphere. they opened friday after 2 weeks of renovation
  7. Hey varider. I posted this awhile back..lol
  8. Goodluck doing that. the road is closed..lol
  9. Well do you think they could alter the renderings without permission?.. Its obviously divaris whom posted these renderings and the leasing information not loopnet.. So it looks like Loopnet got the info from divaris. Dont you agree?.. look at the picture. I see Black lettering with the company Divaris. its a major leasing company.
  10. Hey it looks like there is only one space available at Cityview II, Check it out! This was a update from March 12, 2010 Total Space Available:23,000 SF Rental Rate:$28 /SF/Year Property Type:Retail Property Sub-type:Street Retail Construction Status:Under Construction Building Size:23,000 SF Lot Size:12 AC Space 1 Space Available:23,000 SF Rental Rate:$28 /SF/Year Space Type:Street Retail Lease Type:NNN Date Available:Nov 2011
  11. Yeah, there is actually 7 buildings including parking garages now. Looks like they are adding additional buildings because they know its a successful project going up..
  12. It looks like the same design. Just different colors and a shorter building.. but still a nice building. They just need to change the color.. too much orange.. maybe a earthy tan color in the middle and white on the top like the first rendering..
  13. That is obviously the new rendering. that is why the other was rendering was replaced with this one and the site was updated.. That is the new rendering im afraid
  14. Yeah its really sad that they redesigned the building into a boring blah development.. I will sure miss the 15 story proposal. I guess things change with the economy the way it is.. They probably could not receive financing unless they changed the design and cost. So they had to drop the height, cheap building material.. I dont even think they should even build this building.. it looks old fashion. Looks like a building in the washington heights area in NYC
  15. Looks like Phase 2 of Cityview was changed abit.. the new rendering is here.. its Two Constitution My link
  16. I rode by today near town center and I noticed the taco bell lights were off. the whole building was gutted out from the inside to out.. There is nothing left except lights and a taco bell building. I wonder if they are getting ready to break ground on the phase IV project for the new office tower. Bank of Hampton Roads.. Moving their current HQ from downtown to town center.. This would be great if the taco bell is finally going away. its quite a eye sore the town center area.. It does not fit.. I know its been there before town center. but its time to get replaced
  17. I took some pictures of The Cityview project in progress... Here are updated pictures of constitution across thalia Creek..
  18. These are a few of the stores that are coming to Hampton Town Center to fill the space.. And more is on the way.. 50 is what they said.. wish we could have stores and restrants at va beach town center.. what is va beach doing?.. stalling on the Phase IV project and falling behind the game.. what a waste!. 19. It is really sad how Hampton gets 50 new retailers out of state and region and Virginia Beach Town center has stalled their phase IV project til March. And It looks like Noone wants to move into Town Center for their shops.. I hear places are closing down, probably taking their business elsewhere to the lovely Hampton Town Center.. Virginia Beach Town Center lacks alot.. They have the eye sore Mall they should have torn down instead of revonating it and making it even more a eye sore and such. Look at the Columbus Village with the Regal.. They could rebuilt that into a highly mixed use development with a state of the art Cinema, grand fountain with statues, trees and plants/grass.. but no they are letting Hampton Win the game.. Yes Virginia Beach has the tallest building but they are not doing much.. only 2 towers currently and all they do is delay the project.. If we were such in a recession there wouldnt be 50 new stores opening up in Hampton for March 11th.. and none of the stores/restraunts even exist in the modern Town Center of va beach.. PF Changs and CheeseCake factory are the only busy restraunts at vbtc.. thats sad
  20. Great News everyone!.. The mayor of Virginia Beach told wavy he will sign the agreement with norfolk southern for the right away thursday. He stated he will not let mismanagement in norfolk ruin the opportunity for lightrail in va beach.. he is going to bring lightrail. Its kind of funny how at the last minute he is signing the contract before this year is over so he can say he accomplished a goal in his term and be a hero..
  21. The crane is over the creek.. at columbus station at the end of the road.. The crane is to build the bridge not any buildings. the road has to be finished first before construction starts on the Phase II
  22. Cityview is being paid for as a private partnership.. It already has the funds for contruction.. The developer of that property is paying for the extension of constitution across thaila creek.. I have faith the Phase IV project will get back on its feet by March of 2010..
  23. Someone obviously not bright. It would be a bad situation if the tunnel collasped and killed hundreds of people which includes most of the navy people who commute to and from base. It would make more sense to build a super bridge like gold gate bridge in San Franciso or Brooklyn in NYC.. there are many ships that dock in nyc and pass under the bridge without any issues.. it would relieve congestion hello.. 4 lanes one way.. another 4 lanes going the oppossite direction with 2 lightrail tracks for lightrail in the middle with a emergency lane going going both ways.. it would be a massive bridge and cost effective but pay off in the end..
  24. I dont understand why all 7 cities can not put money asside to help build a massive 12 lane bridge .. 4 lanes both ways with a lightrail tracks going both ways across the water where HRBT is. and once the bridge is done they can shut down that old aging tunnel which causes major congestion.. It would relieve stress on all drivers and allow transit one side of the water to the each with a freeflow of traffic.. It would be beneficial to all cities in HR because of transit times, commute times and cause a big poplulation boom for all areas of the cities. With lightrail I think one city out of a time should help put money to the side to help extend the line throughout different cities.. like for example.. Norfolk and chesapeake, suffolk and maybe hampton could pitch a few million into va beach lightrail system.. because at the end its gonna be beneficial to all the cities. and once va beach gets lightrail.. va beach, norfolk and hampton could help create a line to chesapeake.. in 6 to 10 yrs we could have all he cities connected we just have to all work together as team because the state is not going to give HR anymore money to build roads.. You have to use alternative resources. We need to think about the future. we need metro system.. We need alternatives and with just having roads here its just gettting more and more clogged. Think Trasit and watch the economy explode with new businesses and population..
  25. Yeah I totally agree with a lightrail station built in the lobby for the future like Dubai.. it would be amazing..
