  1. All they have to do is lay off some IT folks and either offshore their jobs or replace them w/ local H1B contractors and they can remain neutral 'employee' headcount wise.
  2. 3 car trains won't be happening anytime soon....wonder if they'll be able to increase the frequency at peak hours to make up? http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article139256098.html#storylink=indep
  3. No more missing the train b/c someone is fumbling to feed cash into the ticket machine!
  4. Cotswold catching flack from the muckrakers at CharlotteFive/Charlotte Agenda http://www.charlottefive.com/moved-to-south-charlotte-cotswold/ https://www.charlotteagenda.com/82301/facebook-right-cotswold-isnt-cool-enough-worth-part-common-market-name/
  5. http://www.charlottefive.com/heroes-arent-hard-to-find-noda/ Comic book store closing up and moving to Noda. Landlord won't renew lease. "Worst episode ever"
  6. Agree - lots of redundancy between Macy's and Belk. They could redevelop that space for smaller brand name retail stores.
  7. Agree about the salsa bar...at least replace it w/ bottles of hot sauce at the tables. I heard their rent has tripled since they opened in the late 90s and they numbers just didn't add up any more.
  8. Any chance the Smiths propose building it up at the speedway property? They can say they tried to work w/ the city and it didn't work out.
  9. One other thing the speedway offers (to an owner) is the parking revenue stream.
  10. Good read about whether the new Atlanta stadium will push the talk of the Panthers needing a new stadium: http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2016/12/05/will-stadium-opening-in-atlanta-spark-discussion.html?ana=RSS%26s%3Darticle_search&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  11. Don't think comparing baseball stadiums (81 reg season home games) to football stadiums (8 reg season home games) is an apples to apples comparison when considering spurring development. Esp considering how few non-Panthers events the ownership has allowed at BofA...would that continue w/ a new stadium?
  12. Looks like the Feds/Law Enforcement want to see this place cleaned up as well.... http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/development/article106137392.html
  13. IMO, Jennifer Roberts hasn't been beating the drum loud enough that this isn't Charlotte's doing.
  14. Whitewater center acknowledges 'flaw' in filter http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article89811797.html How does this end? What type of changes do they have to make to get this place re-opened? Where does the $$ come from? Who is on the hook for a lawsuit? Meck County taxpayers? Or is it limited to the WWC itself?
  15. They also wrote the 3rd article in as many weeks about Babalu tacos.
  16. Funny Charlotte Agenda/Five parody twitter account: https://twitter.com/agendafive
  17. Don't have a problem if they move the practice facilities elsewhere. They desperately need an indoor practice field and also could use a place w/ more privacy. Compare Atlanta's practice facilities w/ Carolina's and then think back to the weather the week before the Panthers lone reg season loss last year.
  18. Korean fried chicken place going into the lower area at Park Towne Village. Going to be lots of chicken choices in the area btwn this, Roasting Co, and Viva. https://www.charlotteagenda.com/49711/bon-chon-opening-this-spring/
  19. At some point the Panthers may move their practice facility outside of downtown (they desperately need an indoor practice building to avoid practicing in the snow and rain). That land, while not as central as some might desire, could be a potential site for fan fests etc.
  20. Any idea what the prop mgmt has planned for that back area?
  21. Based on this site plan, I guess the rumors of a Publix going here aren't true ??
  22. Marriott buying Starwood - the combined company will have all 3 hotels in the epicentre http://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/16/marriott-to-buy-starwood-for-122b-in-cashstock.html
  23. Only way we host that in CLT is with a new stadium.
  24. Results of the Grubb properties survey on 'rebranding' the Park/Woodlawn area. I hope some of the comments about making the area more pedestrian friendly are improved upon. http://files.ctctcdn.com/7f1c6df3501/c3f56d5d-8704-4693-9456-23801de65cb8.pdf
