  1. About time!!! LIT needs LAX, DC and a florida destination.
  2. This is really good for the center. This is a very cool store, not that i shop there, but lots of friends love it. They are owned by the same company that owns Urban Outfitters. Perhaps we will see one of thoes in the near future. This would be the first Anthropolagie in the state!! It deffently adds some UMPH!!! to the Promenade. I really hope this is what the center needs to get things moving. Although, are the Suite #'s listed the same ones that still have JCrew listed as leasing them? How about the other stores listed as opening this springs, mainly the wine bar and other ones? Has work started on thoes yet? Bravo? IMAX DSW Apple(PLEASE) JCrew(PLEASE) Anthropolagie ALL FIRST FOR THE STATE!!!
  3. COOL!!!! I think 2010 is going to be good for the Promenade! Bravo should be opening soon. I have also heard rumors that many of the stores that pulled out are coming back now that the economy is rebounding.
  4. Spencer's and Shoe Woo are now open. I did however notice that the jewelry store next to Lane Bryant is closing.
  5. I wounder what would go into the empty Lewis & Clark? Maybe Dick's Sporting Goods. Its a large space. 30K+ sf. There are 3 empty spaces and one of them is accounted for with the new salon moving in. I wish they would get a Jimmy Johns or something like that. I think one more eatery would be good. I don't see space for the Apple Store here. Unless they would go next to the Container Store. Maybe Panera Bread could go in here somewhere.
  6. RK Collections is open now. Its rite next to the proposed BEBE store. There is no sign above it, only a temp one next to it. Work has started on the Bravo Restaurant across from American Eagle. I have also noticed many windows replacing the large wooden temp walls. Maybe this is a good sign. The wooden wall covering the apple store is still there. I think its only a matter of when, not if this thing opens up. Over all, i say this is the most packed empty shopping center i have ever seen. There are always a ton of cars there. DSW seems to always be busy. Its a huge store. Dickinson 9 & IMAX is always packed. I think it could be a good candidate for expansion in a couple of years. I think with the economy turning around and things starting to pick up, 2010 will be a good year for the Promenade. I did however notice that many of the large signs that said Victoria's Secrete, J. Crew, Etc are now gone. The only one i see is the BEBE and the Select comfort(Whatever the hell that is).
  7. I think the NWA memphis flights would continue onwards to places like Washington, NYC and maybe even to a hub. It was a like a direct flight with a stop at the memphis hub. I too think its crazy that the MEM flights were mainline while flights like Detroit and Minneapolis were regional. I think with delta now calling the shots, i bet we will see a totall downgrade to regional to memphis, but i could see mainline making a comeback on the Atlanta, Detroit and Minneapolis flights. Delta and NW have a very loyal following in The LR area, Especially Delta. They have been one of the major player in LIT for a long time. I think a delta schedule like this would do well with LIT Atlanta: 4x MD-80 or DC-9, 2x CRJ/ERJ Memphis: 1x DC-9 2x CRJ/ERJ Detroit: 2x CJR-900 (These include First Class in them) Minneapolis: 1x CRJ-900 Salt Lake City:1x CRJ-700 Cincinatti will soon be gone as a delta hub. Its only a matter of time! This is of course, only if the economy gets better! and btw, Business Week named LR the 4th best southern metro for business.
  8. Some where I read that US air was going to add non stop to Washington national sometime in 2010. I dont know if its still going to happen, but that would be really nice. So far in 09, we have: AA mainline returning in 2010. United to Chicago O'hare. .............. am i missing anything else? Even though this isn't a lot, i think its pretty good considering the economy fell of a cliff. AA to Dallas and Chicago US to Charlotte DL to Atlanta, Memphis, Detroit and Cincinnati. SW to Dallas, Chicago, St. Louis, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Baltimore. CO to Houston and New York. UA to Denver and Chicago Still no LAX, Florida or Washington DC. These are the holes missing form the LIT network.
  9. In July of next year, AA will upgrade 4 of its flights to MD-80's from the ERJ/CRJ type of aircraft. There will be 4 mainline and 3 regional.
  10. According to Airliners.net, US Airways is going to be announcing very soon its intent to start service on the LR to DC (Regan National) along with about 15 other cities as a system wide upgrading of its Regan destinations. If so, this is very good news.
  11. I really hope that this doesn't come true, but if it does the the future does seem bleak. I would not call this a cause of the little rock economy, but more of the national economy. I would bet that if this center had opened 2 years ago when everything was just moving along, it would be about full. Every time i am walking around the center, i often hear people talk about how they wish the stores would open up. I bet that if little rock got more variety, then we could keep some of the shopping in state vs people like me that often go out of state to do their shopping. This again is an effect of not having 1 large shopping center that can attract all this. I would still like to think that if the right people were involved, they could market the midtown area has 1 large shopping district (parkplaza, midtowne, and park avanue). on a side note, i wounder if chicos and jos a banks will ever move to the promenade? i think that these stores would do better in a cluster vs 1 in this center and 1 in the the other. you could add old navy to the mix also.
  12. I think there is a wall up in front of the theoretical space for apple. If im not mistaken, its rite next to the proposed lucky brand jeans.
  13. Coach is now open. It looks really nice. On the other hand, Crabtree & Evelyn seems to be closing. I knew that the chain had filed for bankruptcy, but i didn't know that they were closing stores. Does anyone seem to know whats going on at the old lubys location? There seems to be some sort of work going on inside. I think that the AL's formal and the other empty store (old limited too) next to it could make a good apple location. but they have to do something to that exterior. It looks awful.
  14. The sad thing is every time I pass the center, it looks busy. I don't know why, perhaps the movie theater. But obviously people will go. It will eventually come together. Maybe minus the big names (Apple, Dicks, etc.) But it will come together. The people that live in the WLR area of Chenal Valley will shop their. I know i would, but only if it comes together. Im waiting on more things to open.
  15. American Eagle seems to be open now. What else is open or about to open? Nobody seems to know whats going on at this center. I want the inside scoop.
  16. So was coach the retailer that the news was talking about?
  17. I thought coach was going in at Kirklands? If apple goes into the old luby's, i hope they do an exterior door. I think that wold be nice. As long as they are not as crappy as that AL formal wear sidding crap. YUCK!!!!!! What else could make its way to Park Plaza? Macys?
  18. What are some of the taller buildings proposed for NWA??? Whats the deal with not wanting to go vertical?
  19. After Apple "pulled out" of the promenade, i was pondering the question of if park plaza could be expanded? It did just go though a huge revamp that has made it a really nice upscale mall, but its on the small side. What if they were to expand and add more space for places like a Macys, or Apple or anything like that. Could it happen??? i doubt it would in this economy. But could it be a reality in the future? I just think that if park plaza was to expand, it would keep it a solid development. I for one would love to see it expanded. Little Rock has to many small developments as it is. So, stop building new ones and expand old ones. I would love to see: Midtown shopping district: -Park Plaza: Large indoor mall that is expanded. -Midtowne: Outdoor lifestyle center. Could this be expanded? -Park Avenue: Lifestyle main street development with a large bookstore, movie theater, Target, and restaurants. Then you have: The Promenade: Local center aka small park plaza Pleasant Ridge TC: Locally owned stores anchored by Belk shackelford Crossing: Power Center with Walmart, JC Pennys and other retailers.
  20. Well, to be fair to delta, they have a morning and evening CRJ-900 flight. This aircraft includes a "First Class" section. While it isnt mainline by any means, its better than a regular CRJ-200. BTW, Delta aka Northwest still has 2 mainline flights to Memphis. Although, i could see this being downgraded by the end of this year.
  21. This is the current line up at Little Rock National. Daily Service (Carrier, city, flights) American: Chicagox5, Dallas/Fort Worth X10 Delta/ Northwest: Atlanta x9, Memphis X3, Detroit X1, Cincinnati X2, US air: Charlotte X3 United: DenverX3 Continental: HoustonX6 Newark X1 Southwest: Dallas x6, Chicago X1, St. Louis x2, Baltimore x1, Las Vegas x1, Houston x1 If it isn't the high gas prices, then it's the economy, so 2009 could be a risky adventure. Luckily, LIT and the whole little rock area is still just bobbing along at an okay pace. Hopefully, we will not loose many more high paying jobs as Verizon takes over Alltel and Dillards restructures. But, as the rest of the country tanks, and people cut back, airlines will cut too. 2009 wishlist: Delta to NYC, washington and to reinstate Salt Lake City and maybe Minniaplois. Mainline back to ATL. US to Phoenix since Southwest cancled. UA back to Washington. Somebody flying too: Orlando and Los Angeles.
  22. I to went to Ya Ya's this weekend. This will be a popular place for some time to come. Great service and Great price!!! I would like to see more places like Ya Ya's in the Promenade. I think this center is just off to a slow start. It will be in full swing come summer.
  23. Its good to see the promenade coming along. I really would love to see apple out there. I think it could bring the shopping center up to a whole new level. What about a list of stores that have interest in the promenade.
  24. That's really good that coach has applied for a spot in park plaza. I Think this will help keep park plaza in good shape. Im sorry to see the other stores leave. I think it's good for a mall to have a mix, not just clothing stores. Would love to see the old lubys turned into something else.
