I can really see this becoming an institution. I thinking married couples remembering their first date down at the falls park put put. That sort of thing. It's a little corny for the rest of the area, but so, what people wear crocks to upscale restaurants here.

I know the owner, he told me it's renovation to try to get some new business as things have gotten a little tougher over the last year. He's putting in some new TVs that I know of. Besides that I think the concept is staying the same, just new look inside. Nice guy too, definitely the kind of person that you want having businesses in you town, very willing to reinvest money back into the local economy.

Just went by a few minutes ago and one pole is own already today and another is coming down in a bit.

The falls yesterday at 5PM and the underground utilities going in by the ball park.

Citylife, do you know anything about this or the work in the vacant lot next to it or the old bar they just tore down today? New pumps are going in at the citco too, now if they would just tear down and rebuild the store!

If there were an urban style Best Buy DT I could bike/walk to work and probably go from two cars to one.

I actually live downtown near pendelton west and I use Publix and Staples all the time. These places are for the poeple that live here not people in Simpsonville. I hate having to get in a car and drive to big box retail in other areas. I wish we had a really well done lifestyle center downtown that could take care of all my needs. I would never leave. Most people on this board still look at Greenville as some type of tourist attraction, but for more and more people it is home. I need more of these type of places to fufill my needs beyond a $7 cup of coffee. Also, big box retail drives foot traffic up which can only be good for businesses. If rent goes up and your business is to weak to compete you need to move on to the next "hot spot." As the city grows, more hip locations will open up to become the new great investment, think West Greenville and Stone Ave. One day these places will be the cool, non-commercial/sell out places to be, mark my words.

Just tried to hit the link to the story about the sale of the bus system building and it is down. Wonder if we might be getting some surprise announcements today at 4:00PM?

How sure are you about the Easley location?

Any chance of an urban segment Best Buy or a Best Buy Mobile Store? I've been trying to get in the ears of management for a while now about getting in early down here and that DT needs a first class cell phone store. The Mobile Store is one of our new pushes for 2008 with stand alones in Spartanburg and Anderson, but not Greenville if you can believe that. Those places are going in the malls and I'm trying to tell them about downtown being a better value proposition with lower rent than the mall (for now) and it being the future of our community.

The playground in front of the zoo is getting the same style equipment. Looks like the designer was on hallucinogenics, it's cool though I like it visually, but it doesn't look like the most functional stuff.

Theres a new store front getting redone on the main drag through West Greenville. Anyone know anything?

I hope its gonna be 24 hours. Back in New York there's a ton of 24 hour dinners and DDs. One of the things I miss is the night life. If you don't sleep well you always had company.

These guys came in and got some stuff from the store. It is going to be a really cool teen center with all kinds of entertainment for them. I was blown away when he told me about the location. We are always trying to do more charity work in the community and I hope he comes back at some point to talk to us.

I sold a music system to the owner. It is going to be in her words "a high end gift store." I can't remember the name though.
