  1. I ate lunch at the Norfolk one a few months ago on a weekday. There was only one other table eating. In fact, the whole waterside area was dead. I was not impressed...Reminded me of 6th Street.
  2. Thanks flack...I was just teasin'. Although I do appreciate the information. My in-laws live in KC and I travel to Indy twice a year.
  3. flack4ric, I would like a direct flight from RIC to Kansas City and Indianapolis. Thank you very much.
  4. Si is owned and operated by Mo Roman. Mo also owns Bank and will open Pie at the Berry Burk building. He definitely does a great job with atmosphere.
  5. Bet you a quarter Burt that Pie opens before the Performing Arts does.
  6. Check out this guy's idea (third letter): http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/opinion/lett...07-13-0057.html
  7. Burt, there is no longer an Urban Flats banner hanging. It could mean something. Or maybe the wind blew it away.
  8. Perhaps they shouldn't have been paved in the first place. No reason not to correct a wrong. Plus, they are digging at Lumpkins now...Good timing. I don't agree with all of Williams' articles, but I do here.
  9. Burt, I was referring to Berry Burk.
  10. There's a new restaurant coming to journiyin's neighborhood. Wish I could say more at this time....
  11. At least there will be eight more cops on the street and countless PR folks pounding those same streets.
  12. When did the James become so blue?
  13. Unfurtunately Burt, I heard from a good source this morning that the Murphy replacement is not included.
  14. This is excitng...Fingers crossed. This development should help Riverside and the Canal. Can't wait for an elevation.
  15. Sorry, but West Hospital should not be torn down. At least not until all alternatives are explored. It is one of three outstanding art deco buildings in the city (M and R and the CNB building are the others). And anybody who drives down Broad Street can't help but notice this landmark...It has dominated that part of the skyline for years. I like Cuope's idea about the former Children's Hospital idea as well as the idea of placing it where the Public Safety building. Keeping West as student housing plus building a hospital will increase the density of the area.
  16. I spoke with a senior architect at Baskervill and "as far as he knows, the project is still moving forward" and "they are incorporating the corner building into the project". This particular architect is not working on Centennial. Maybe they are using the old building to receive some historic tax credits. Does that loophole still exist? i know that Riverside on the James and The Turning Basin Building took advantage of it.
  17. Cam, Is the corner building in your last photo being saved?
  18. Burt, I hope you continue posting. Your input and enthusiam regarding Richmond are greatly appreciated by me. You will be missed.
  19. If true this is pretty interesting. With all the development going on at the river and Broad/Grace, the financial district is getting left behind. If The Centennial doesn't happen this area could become the hole in downtown.
  20. You could do a killer fried chicken business downtown. I would do take out only through a window.
  21. A few years ago, some non profits were considering locating there to make a "non Profit headquarters"
  22. Burt, GW is open for dinner.
  23. A coming soon banner for Urban Flats is now hanging on Lady Bird Hat Building. http://www.urbanflats.net/process.cfm?pageID=1
